Carcamo is bowing into double left jabs and getting clouted on the back of the head with the right hand of Petrov. Hooks and uppercuts inside by Petrov, bouncing out of range when Carcamo loads up his own. Petrov doubles a jab and throws a right and left hook over the head as Carcamo bows forward again, exposing the back of the head. Body shots by Petrov, muscling in on Carcamo and shoving him across the ring until a break is called. Petrov jabs out lightly with his left, playing patty-cake with Carcamo's right. Lead right on the button from Petrov as their jabbing knuckles are still touching. BIG looping right by Petrov backing Carcamo into a corner, possibly hurting him. Light uppercuts on the body by Carcamo leaning in.

Cotto is a warrior and has never really been lullabied, but he also has never been hit by an elite middleweight.

I just keep having flashes of Williams II, even though it was a long time ago. (Williams being a larger and sturdier guy than Cotto...)

Carcamo is swinging for the fences, very slow and ungainly with both arms shot out in meandering hoops. Petrov is countering with everything in the book, favoring lead uppercuts on the face shot from the hip on the outside, constantly moving. Petrov is darting in and out but getting bolder, staying in close to get as many as four shots off before ducking away behind a shell to absorb Carcamo's wide slaps. Big left upper-hook by Petrov snapping the head of Carcamo back. Carcamo looks embarrassed, tired, and vexed.

Carcamo is getting hit with counter jabs and uppercuts, hand in the cookie jar as he throws very slow and easily spotted punches in straight lines, now switching from southpaw to orthodox to no avail. Petrov is leading with the up-shot right from outside, scoring as he pleases. Left hooks and big right bolo hits by Petrov. Carcamo is wobbly. Clinch. Petrov is jumping in with big hooks with both hands and rocking Carcamo.

edit: never mind! Joel Diaz changed his mind while conversing with the ref after initially requesting that he stop it.

They have a physician consult with Carcamo to see if he is okay to continue. He seems disoriented and unsure what is happening, angry that his coach suggested ending it. They let him go on!! atsch
