Mamadjanov is whipping left hands in from outside and then getting his tight guard up in front of his face as he sidesteps to the left. Perez stays coiled at mid-range, putting out a few lead left hooks and jabs but mostly staying quiet but for reactions to Mamadjanov's lunges. More and more of Mamadjanov's lefts are whipping around the right glove of Perez and clipping him behind the temple. Combo by Mamadjanov jumping in, partially caught on the gloves, and Perez stupidly drops his hands and puffs out his chest in a show of bravado. Mamadjanov doesn't capitalize before the bell.

Mamadjanov is putting the jab up into the vertically held forearms of Perez, unable to split them or get through to the head, but setting up his lefts to the body and keeping Perez from countering. Accidental headbutt called out by Ray Corona. Mamadjanov keeps circling and alternating his attack between high blocked jabs and lefts to the body. Perez tries to find Mamadjanov with his left jab, and manages to graze him with a right hand after connecting with it, following the Uzbek to the ropes. Mamadjanov drifts out to his left, then buoys himself a moment waiting for Perez before pouncing in and smacking him on the side with a left hand.
