Gonzalez hooks, then covers up. Bayron flurries his way in and hugs. Gonzalez waits his turn, throws a downward right hand, then covers up again and allows himself to be flurried against and leaned into and ultimately held again. Nice 1-2 by Gonzalez. Hook to the body by Gonzalez. Bayron jabs and Gonzalez ducks down low almost below the waist. Right hand lead by Gonzalez, just missing. Bayron flurries and misses, then dives down and grabs Gonzalez around the waist.

Round 4

Lead right by Gonzalez. Bayron throws a blind hook overhead while ducking to his right, and of course misses badly. Gonzalez inches forward cautiously, guard up. Bayron hooks into either side of his guard, rocking his whole upper body and making him sway a bit but not getting through with anything clean. Gonzalez ducks and takes a slapping hook above the ear without his glove in the wayl. Gonzalez has a cut by his right eye. He runs away and turns his back, pawing at it. Bayron jumps in and lands a leaping left hook. Bayron is bashing his way in with high clapping shots as Gonzalez tries to tie him up and stall. Bayron is pushed back to the ropes with Gonzalez leaning down on him. Body shots and more tying up by Gonzalez. Smoger is right in there splitting them up in a hurry. Big right hand by Bayron, deflected by Gonzalez's glove. Hard 1-2 by Gonzalez. Another. Bayron ducks and shoulders into his midsection. Smoger breaks them up. Bell.

10-9 Bayron, Gonzalez started acting like a ***** once the cut opened up.

Teddy Atlas had 39-37 for Gonzalez, same as myself and two of the judges - but interestingly, he gave Bayron the third (not the fourth) :think

 

At least Mighty Mike Arnaoutis got back on the board to end his four loss streak. That makes me happy, it's just too bad we didn't get to see it. Even once he started rapidly declining to the point where he was shot in his late twenties/early thirties, he was hardly ever boring. :respect

 

BTW, those who were wondering about Matthysse vs. Martinez - it ended about an hour ago, so it would have been fruitless trying to catch it after FNF as they overlapped.
