    Hopkins is now jabbing at the moving target, and keeping his own feet unstuck from the floor compared to earlier rounds. Solomon leaps up out of a slanting crouch to try and plant a hook in Hopkins' throat but it's slipped. Hopkins is trying to time Solomon's awkward rushes with short drumrolls. They stay in the pocket and trade, with Hopkins landing a nice right. Solomon keeps working his free hand as they press together against the ropes. Hopkins wraps an arm completely around Solomon's back, pushing him down but the ref intervenes before Hopkins can pull the trigger on a left hook rabbit punch he has cocked up. They clinch and infight some more, with Solomon getting a lot of touches to the body.

    3-1 Solomon IMO. D hop needs to set up the jab to throw some punches to the body. Demetrius is letting Solomon dictate the fight but he may have won the 4th. The speed/awkwardness of Solomon is troubling him still but he had a better round in the 4th.

    4th was quite close imo. Hopkins wins only because of the clean punch.

    Solomon comes forward and throws right hands to the body. Hopkins catches him with a couple of quick right hands and a short hook off the back foot. Solomon whips out a nasty right uppercut that just glances but would have been a showstopper if it landed. Hopkins throws a couple of short punches that get blocked before Solomon digs a hook to the body. Solomon is reaching up and landing lots of headshots on the inside now, with Hopkins just getting one hook off in response. Solomon jabs Hopkins back and feints rushes from the outside.

    Dhop is throwing 1/3 the amount of jabs he needs to. This guy can be jabbed, keeps his hands low. Disrput his rythym by jabbing him and your set.

    brad looks like the second coming of jones.... without the power. and dhop looks like the second coming of bhop without the slickness.

    I agree with those that say Solomon looks tired. The RJJ style requires lots of conditioning that I think Solomon doesn't have. Hopkins may edge this fight in the mid-later rounds. Good fight for purists with some good punches landed at times. Much better than the very slow first two rounds. Demetrius is using the jab more and had success doing so. He NEEDS to kill that body to slow down his unconventional/awkward skilled opponent.

    Atlas sums up Hopkins' attitude: I want my candy! (as in, he wants an opening to counter punch)

    "And when the candy doesn't come, he stamps his feet a little bit"

    Someone should explain to Teddy that just because he's the nephew of an active boxer doesn't mean he's a little kid. That uncle of his is pretty damn old. :lol:

    Solomon is borrowing the leaping left hook from the RJJ playbook, and getting caught and yanked into clinches by Hopkins. Solomon is pressing him against the ropes and bullying him with flurries that Hopkins tries to counter through, but Solomon is throwing and landing more. Neither seems to be much bothered by the power offered by their opponent. Solomon is working the hook quite a lot, and some Hopkins counter punches are careening off his turned out elbow as a result.
