Round 5

Adjaho pressures and doubles his jab to the body, reaching with it as Porter stays well clear. Porter upjabs and misses off the back foot. A Porter lead right catches elbow. Porter is chased all across the ring. Adjaho smacks Porter hard on the cheek with a partially blocked overhand right set up by a double jab. Adjaho keeps coming forward and picking his shots, and throws a nasty looking right uppercut that comes just short. Adjaho is really homing in on the uppercut and trying to catch Porter backing up with it. Porter lunges in with a jab and takes an uppercut to the body en route into a clinch. NICE uppercut by Adjaho as Porter is bending forward. Sloppy action on the inside now. Porter grabs and Adjaho whacks him behind and on the side of the head with his free right hand. Porter looks shocked and appalled and gestures to the referee who simply tells them to break just as the bell sounds.

Round 6

Adjaho comes forward, fakes a jab and pokes a lead right hand through instead. Porter is backed to the ropes and jabs, blocked. Porter flurries to the body and eats a jab as Adjaho steps around him. Lead up-hook by Porter clips Adjaho on the chin as he hops inside. Porter is jumping around now, throwing isolated power shots. Adjaho is trying to line up jabs and is open for some of the lead hooks and rights. They jab and land together. Porter comes forward with a double jab and Adjaho is slapped with it as he tries to slip and reset. Adjaho has a jab fall short as Porter catches him with a quick hook. Porter goes to the body but retreats as Adjaho closes in on him. They tie up against the ropes and the ref tells Adjaho "leave his head alone" (meaning don't push down on Porter) and tells Porter "keep 'em up!". Porter flurries Adjaho to the ropes just before the round's end.

Round 7

Adjaho is very relaxed, his left hand low, looking to time Porter. Adjaho is landing the odd power punch as Porter circles wide and darts in with lead hooks and rights. Adjaho comes forward with his body turned in a Philly shello, walking Porter toward the corner. Porter throws a haymaker and falls into a clinch. Porter is looking especially sloppy, smothering himself on the inside and just wildly swinging on the outside. Porter badly misses a hook. Adjaho walks him into a corner and lands a very nicely timed and sharp counter uppercut. Porter is tentative. Porter walks into a jab and then tries to flurry down low but winds up just tied up with Adjaho.

They just showed punchstats through 6.

Porter has thrown twice as many shots, but Adjaho is landing at the higher % (and with far more impact).

 

Round 8

There is a rock'em sock'em exchange with both snapping out yo-yo shots and Adjaho gets his head snapped by a couple of Porter jabs before they tie up. The round slows down and Adjaho gets back into his pattern of following with the high guard. Adjaho lands with Porter as they get into a brief but heated exchange and Adjaho works his free right hand once grabbed. Porter is walked into the corner and tries to leaping hook his way out. Adjaho just keeps his guard up as the hook bounces lightly off of it and Porter escapes through the side door. Porter is flurrying and getting an odd touch on the beltline as he spirals his way around Adjaho and into clinches. Porter lands a triple jab at mid range. Adjaho has a jab slipped by a lean-away and Porter comes back at him, outboxing him up close.

Without anywhere near the power and durability...or speed, for that matter.

 

Round 9

Porter is sticking his jab and circling wide with double-foot hops, landing from safety. Adjaho is turning and trying to get his bearings by thrusting a jab in anticipation where Porter is about to circle. Adjaho is simply getting outworked. Porter isn't landing consistently but is getting enough in to score. A lot of running, dancing and clinching - but more than enough landing to take the round, since Adjaho didn't get anything off clean except one or two feel-out jabs.
