The thing is Forbes wants to win but he can't because he just plain sucks.

    Mayfield is awkward as hell.

He looks better so far than the last time I saw him on that Toney-Batchedler undercard.

Mayfield's rights can be seen coming from a mile away and Forbes still can't seem to get away from any of them to save his life....even the right, right, right, right combo that Mayfield throws.

    Round 2

Forbes is jabbing aggressively and pushing Mayfield back to the ropes. Flurries from Forbes, staying close. Forbes moves his head as Mayfield darts out off the ropes and flings high up-jabs and hammers down with rights. Mayfield is able to muscle Forbes back to the ropes and smother him there, whipping those right hands up and over. Forbes jabs to the body and is able to grab as he drives Mayfield back into yet another set of the ropes. A lot of this through five minutes has been spent with both guys leaning against each other or the ring ropes. NICE uppercut by Forbes as he's sliding backward while Mayfield leaps out at him firing wildly. Forbes lands a few more body shots diving in headfirst to grab.

    19-19

God damn they're tangling up pretty every time punches are thrown. Mayfield did more to win the second. Pretty awkward fight so far.

Forbes doesn't suck like some are saying. Hes old and past his best and past his fighting weight but hes not that bad.

    Round 3

Hard 1-2 from Mayfield, mostly blocked as Forbes leans back against the ropes but thudding heavily. Forbes is trying to work the body as he keeps his face pointed down at the Corona logo with his back curled. Forbes is grabbing around the waist to get a firm grip and unleash his short taps to the body, while Mayfield pushes down on his head and clubs at him with rights. Lots of clinching and wrestling. Forbes hooks his left arm around Mayfield's right, locking it at the elbow and drags him across the ring as Forbes backs into the ropes. Reach-around rabbit punches by Mayfield as they pull apart. Forbes is doing all hugging and almost no punching. Here's a hooking flurry on the back foot by Forbes, but hits all elbow. Mayfield has him hurt with a clubbing temple shot near the end of the round!!

    29-28 Mayfield
