Round 1

Paredes walks Leyva back, popping his left jab. Leyva is in his southpaw stance, bobbing and jogging in place. Nice stiff jab by Paredes, brushing the forehead of Leyva. Reaching left hand lead to the body by Leyva. Paredes is staying on the outside, out of range, popping left jabs to the forehead. Flush chopping right hand to the brow by Paredes, countering across a Leyva lunging lead left. Paredes keeps walking in, deliberate and slow. Lead left hook by Paredes grazes. Now a lone left jab. Leyva is covering up with a loose guard but getting knocked back by the one-and-done hooks of Paredes. Hook and right to the body by Paredes. 1-2 by Paredes falls short as Leyva jumps back.

Round 2

Leyva slings out his right jab and gets checked and parried by Paredes' left. Paredes is keeping his lead foot positioned outside of Leyva's and looks to be surer in his stance and less clumsy as well as being the stronger man and faster puncher - but he's in no hurry to apply any thicker pressure and seems content to just hang back and load up with a few left hooks downstairs between his steady jab. HARD right to the face by Paredes, knocks Leyva back into the ropes. Leyva keeps reaching over the top with his limp southpaw 1-2 and dropping some lead lefts to the body. Paredes catches most of it on his arms and counters with his stiff left jab. 1-2 to the guard by Paredes, followed by a hook to the ribs that just glances.
