ESPN2 FNF: Joel Julio vs. Anges Adjaho & Sadam Ali vs. John Revish RBR

That's the ****ed up thing. He wasn't.

You'd think by looking at him now in with Julio that he'd be like an Ali Funeka type down at lightweight, but if memory serves he looked roughly the same size as his opponents.

I think the bottom line is that the Love Child is NOT the 5'10" he's listed as.

 

Round 7

Julio is desperately looking to connect with a jab or a lead right, putting some extra snap on both to try and poke a hole through Adjaho's guard. Nothing doing. Adjaho is actually mixing in a right cross now behind his own pot-shotted jab, throwing it mainly as an escape mechanism when he drifts into the ropes and has Julio breathing down his neck. Nice hook around the guard and then a flurry up the middle by Julio. 1-2 into the guard, and then a triple hook that mostly hits arm by Julio.

Round 8

Julio is getting really mad. He's throwing a hard upward hook at Adjaho's face, angling his body to throw it up from the Benin man's side. Hard right to the body by Julio. Adjaho keeps dancing just outside Julio's reach and popping his longer jab. That's another thing. Adjaho is clearly TALLER and has a REACH ADVANTAGE - but according to Boxrec it's Julio with the better end of the tale of the tape. :-(

Julio is really going for it, throwing hard hooks that Adjaho is feeling despite blocking them and then putting right hands behind them, hoping to catch Adjaho with his hands apart after "shaking the tree" a bit. Still no coconuts coming down. Adjaho is still able to be negative and pot shot with his jab, clear-eyed. Julio hasn't hurt him...but not for lack of trying.
