:conf I liked Dos Santos' defense and uppercuts. It was the least clear-cut round so far; I can see the reasoning for giving it to Gonzalez but he didn't set himself apart like he did in the 3rd.


...or like he is doing here in the 4th. :yikes

 

Round 4

Dos Santos is hurt as Gonzalez whips around the side with rights under the ribs and then brings the right hand up to tag him on the head as he leans back. Dos Santos is holding every chance he gets now as Gonzalez chops him across the ring. Dos Santos plants his feet, legs a bit wide, and throws a hard 1-2. Gonzalez catches it on his guard and keeps coming. Dos Santos has a point deducted for holding.

Round 5

Dos Santos is driven into the ropes by straight punches and then rotating above the waist as Gonzalez flaps at his sides and drubs his shoulders with clubbing blows up close. Dos Santos tries wriggling off the ropes and landing uppercuts but can't find his spacing and doesn't seem to know how to shorten them up. Gonzalez mauls Dos Santos into the next set of ropes, but Dos Santos slides back a few steps to pull the chair out from under him and lands a few light taps on the head while Gonzalez is bent forward stumbling toward him. Dos Santos is on his toes, bouncing. He stands too long in one fixed place and Gonzalez catches him with a jab on the mouth and presses him into the ropes. Dos Santos leans in against him and grabs. Ref orders a break. Jab and chopping right by Gonzalez trying to push Dos Santos into a corner. Dive and grab by Dos Santos. Separation. Lead right hand by Dos Santos as Gonzalez keeps coming forward.
