Brinson circles and pops off quick chopping combos from outside. Escalera covers up, lopes along after him, and looks to double up on big powerful left hooks. Brinson is usually clipped by one of them and quickly beats a retreat to dodge the next. The one hook at a time for Escalera is having an effect, though, as Brinson starts to look shakier in his flight. Escalera manages to grab Brinson coming off the ropes and fire some uppercuts while keeping a grip on him. Brinson slides along the ropes and trades underhanded body shots with Escalera. Right to the body and two hard left jabs to the head by Escalera as Brinson circles away. Wild right hand by Brinson from outside as Escalera is coming forward, misses.

Round 4

Body shots by Escalera making Brinson grimace as he backs up to each set of ropes in turn. Jabs and rights tossed over the top by Brinson on the back foot. Brinson leans against a set of ropes and times an uppercut, with no effect. Escalera comes forward now with jabs to the chin. Brinson angles off the ropes and misses his jab. Escalera hops after him with an evil leer, showing his gum shield. Jabs to the guard by Escalera. Soft pitty pat combo by Escalera as Brinson checks everything on his gloves. Brinson spins Escalera and taps him with a light combo, then backs up. Escalera keeps coming, stretching his left jab out and then getting countered by a light 1-2 from Brinson.

Round 5

Escalera is stretching out that jab, whizzing by Brinson's chin as soft counter hooks and combos come flying back. Brinson is skipping around, putting in shots where he can as he turns Escalera to escape the pocket. Escalera is warned a few times for low blows and told next time will be a point. Brinson is scooting back with his left arm low, landing slapping hooks at will on Escalera.
