Round 2

Roman is getting backed up but still landing better with hooks and uppercuts. Madrigal is letting his hands go and catching Roman a bit, but isn't as sharp. Everything they're chucking is hard and has bad intentions on it, though. Roman is pushed back and slaps Madrigal across either temple. Hard righ thand by Madrigal. Roman scores a KNOCKDOWN ON A DELAYED REACTION!!! LIVER SHOT!!! Madrigal looks DONE!! He stays on the ground until late in the count but beats it. They then start slamming each other with power punches as soon as the referee steps out of the way.

Round 3

Hard whipping underhand shots by Roman as he's pushed to the ropes. Madrigal is trying to slam Roman from up high with soaring left hands raining into the back of his hairline. Madrigal is rocking Roman with the few that land but is getting outworked on the inside by hard hooks and uppercuts. Nice overhand right by Roman. Madrigal walks straight on into a combo of left hooks to the body and right uppercuts to the chin. Madrigal isn't even flinching as he wades through serious leather from Roman.

Round 4

Madrigal comes forward trying to slam a right hand home but is getting hooked low and eating uppercuts. Roman is now flicking a jab that is mostly effective at keeping Madrigal's fists bouncing off harmlessly to the side. Madrigal is right there for the uppercut and Roman is starting to throw more of it. Madrigal starts to back up a little and paw with a jab. They hook together and there is a loud "pop!". It's hard to tell whose was worse. Roman is throwing everything in combination, while Madrigal can only manage those high-slamming overhand left hooks one at a time. Madrigal is trying to land a big right hand but Roman is drilling him with four or five short punches before those wide singles can get to him.

That shouldn't even be in question, IMO.

It was a good fight, but not hard to score.

Each round was competitive but clear for Roman. With the knockdown it shouldn't even be remotely close, even if someone found a round to swing Madrigal's way.

 

All three judges have it the same as my card, 40-35 for Daniel Roman.

Madrigal 37% to Roman 33%????

NO WAY does that reflect reality. Madrigal landed a ton in the first round but after that it was all sloppy overhands with much less than a third of them making so much as light contact.
