    Round 2

Sakkreerin is leaping in with high left hooks. Barthelemy looks almost bored, dropping the jab on him and slapping in light hooks on the side of the head. Sakkreerin lunges, countered with a cuffing left hook around the nape. Right uppercut by Barthelemy, downstairs. He winds up another one, arm wheeling behind his back, and plants it from outside. Sakkreerin goes down cringing on a delayed reaction - out!

    TKO2!

He is going to puke blood.

On the plus side it'll remind him of home cooked meals back home in Thailand. :yep

Barthelemy, so aloofly detached, cooler than iced cucumbers in the ring and out - chatting on the cell phone while celebrating in the ring.

Probably just for show. He is listening to voicemail and pretending there is someone on the line.

That was a nice body shot landed by Barthelemy, Very RARE KO punch. (These days)

Seeing more of his facial mannerisms now on the slow motion replay, Sakkreerin looks a bit like Ken Jeong.

...at least, when his internal organs have just been pulverized, he does.

    BTW, Russ -
I just wasn't as frightened off by the Lester Gonzalez scare as it seems most were. People were quick to anoint Periban a big-time prospect but even quicker to write him off as chopped liver because of a single dodgy performance which at the end of the day was still a W. (because Andre Ward sure turned bust after Darnell Boone, right? :yep)

I am worried that Bika could grind him down and check his chin - but if Periban boxes smart there is no reason to expect him to get blown away. Periban has a very solid amateur background and was trained in the pros by the late Rudy Perez (the longtime chief second of MAB). Just because he fought dumb & down to his opposition's level when he was coming up doesn't mean he will have his head up his ass when the stakes are raised and there is a world title on the line with a dangerous SOB like Bika standing across from him looking to rip him apart by any means necessary. I think he'll be
intelligent and not get dragged into the dirty brawl that Bika wants.

...or he might relapse into macho stupidity, in which case he is absolutely screwed.

I'm satisfied with tonight's result mainly because now Atlas can STFU about the stupid Usmanee decision every time Barthelemy is mentioned.

    From that graphic,

    1) Uchiyama
    2) Mendez
    3) Miura (although he may soon get upset by Cocaine Thompson)
    4) Martinez

Barthelemy is probably out of his depth against any of them until he gets some more seasoning against sterner challenges than Sakkreerin. (beginning perhaps with an Usmanee rematch)
