Shafikov has been a top shelf talent for a long time, unbeknownst to most fans in the West - many of whom got their first glimpse of him against Vazquez.

Usually he shows a lot more sharpness, versatility and ring IQ than he did versus El Titere, but El Titere makes just about everyone look more clunky and generally worse than usual and the style match-up favored him - though Shafikov did overcome that as best he could andmade Vazquez more uncomfortable and needing to work harder than usual.
