Nah, any serious contender annihilates Quintero. He is still the guy that got shocked by Attah.

I just don't have very high regard for Nugaev, whatsoever. Extraordinarily ordinary for a TV fighter. Reliable guy for bringing action, but headlining FNF is probably his ceiling (and may even be a bit flattering; in reality he probably belongs more on the FNF undercard level). In any real step up to somebody with a pulse he gets circles boxed around him, made to look a chump. His only meaningful W's are knockouts of the aforementioned Daniel Attah (shot to bits, kayoed a bunch of times...let's recall he was a huge underdog with Quintero...), ****** Juuko (shot to bits), Loco Hernandez (domestic level Mexican journeyman, been through a bunch of wars, stopping him is mildly impressive as only Bogere had done it before...), Anthony Mora (padded zero hype job, has done nothing but lose since), and Jonathan Maicelo (see Mora, only difference being that Maicelo had actually fought a couple of reasonable opponents in Attah and Angulo).

He put in a valiant effort in his battle with Ali Rahimov on the Pirog vs. Maciel undercard but was still clearly outclassed...by a guy who later proved similarly out of his own depth against Shafikov. Now, I rate Shafikov very highly, considering him an A- talent...but Rahimiv is close a full grade below, no more than straight B...and Rahimov similarly is a full grade above Nugaev...

Of course, having said all that, watch Quintero get sparked anyway by this mediocre brawler. (think a cross between a poor man's Provodnikov and under-the-bridge-dweller's Margarito, except with less than half the power of either pound-for-pound)

    That mandible is downright fragile.

Assuming he did his homework, due diligence, whatever, he should know going toe to toe with Nugaev is stupid. If he wants to outbox Nugaev and tries, he should be able to.

Goossen was ready to pull Ward out of the Super6 if Bute had been added as a replacement.
Ward can talk all the BS he wants to about no one wanting to come fight him, but Bute and Stevenson both said they would fight Ward in California at 168lbs.
Before the S6 final, Ward and Froch both acknowledged that the winner should fight Bute. In the post fight interview, Ward turned into a manager/promoter and wanted to talk about who hasn't done enough to "earn" a fight with him.
Bute had better performances against common opponents(Bika,Miranda) had the IBF belt, was undefeated and would've been a chance to clean out the division.
Stevenson destroyed Ward's best win(on paper) won the lineal LHW title and said he would fight Ward in California at 168...just like Dawson did.
Ward didn't want any part of either one of them.
Nobody wants to come fight Ward though.

Cintron only lost twice from KO.
Kirkland was really the only one where he was KO'd.
    He quit against Lara.

This is a 50/50 fight, with the teddy curse on Canelo. I'm riding with Angulo

Now, Russell, you know I almost never shortchange on answers. Why...why would you wait until the last minute with a complex, non-yes/no question? :-( (...and then add further stress by commenting upon the absence of a reply while I'm frantically cobbling one together between rounds...at least, once I actually got in from date night and saw the babysitter out the door, halfway into Hernandez-Harrison vs. Balasi, meaning I was already hitting the ground running playing catch-up...)

I've been watching boxing for an hour and only had one beer!! ...and I think my bladder just gave up and shot pee back...I don't know...up? somewhere...

LOL A Bute fanboy. Didn't know you all were still around.

Your boy Bute had a chance to fight Ward all he had to do was beat Froch, a man Ward outclassed. LOL.

Fact is this, Ward fought everyone in the Super 6 and amounted a resume the best in the division, while Bute was using a crooked ref to steal a KO victory from Librado Andrade.

Stevenson wants to fight Ward, he can come down to 168, but seems like he has bigger issues to worry about with Kovalev. You know the guy in his same division that is calling him out.
