A bit surprised they didn't talk about the Garcia-Salido fight. I figured Teddy would do his whole, "Behaving like a fighter..." yada, yada, yada bit.

I liked Atlas comments. Nice and controlled and right on point

I was just about to say the same thing...
Until I remembered it was a "broken" nose.
(Dude looked perfect in the clips they showed)

He beat Salido no doubt... But it's funny anyway.

    :yep

The thing with broken noses is you don't ever want to have a guy breathing his blood.

You don't necessarily have to see any gruesome carnage for it to be serious enough to discontinue the action, if it's affecting respiration.

On the accidental foul, stopping it was the correct decision. Better safe than sorry. It would be a shame for Garcia to get screwed by having all his great work all night thrown out the window because he stayed in too long and got hit while unable to breathe properly after taking an incidental butt to the nose.

...and this is coming from a big Warlando fan.

I don't understand the selective outrage ESPN musters.
They never say anything about the **** going on on NBC sports.

Why is ESPN trying to extend their card to overlap Shotime's.

Medina looks like a drug dealer.

DAMN, I just got done with my client.

I'm watching the last-fight highlights. Looks like it was some slugfest. Are we talking about a possible future star here, or just a really aggressive guy?

    Tonight, they actually were.

    Usually, not so much.

There is typically a lot more spittle, and less rationale.

Do they say much about NBC cards in general? That's more of a direct competitor to their boxing programming than the stuff on Showtime and HBO and generally has smaller events anway.

20/80 split between esb. 20% thought salido was just being pissy and wanted to spite garcia with something so landed a headbutt. but most thought it was salido roughing the younger kid up with hooks and a headbutt inevitably landed. it just so happend to break garcias nose and get the fight a tko....thats where the controversy is. had garcias corner complained so much would they of got the tko get out?

i thought garcia took the easy route....which was the smarter route.
the fight was with garcia but the last few rounds salido started to smoke and landed some good shots and kept garcia crushed against the ropes. garcia didnt look like he wasnt going to win but there was more in the tale of the fight.

Great opening fight. Was trying to figure out where I knew Hernandez from, and it finally came to me..he's the dude who got jobbed against Mickey Bey Jr. and gave Luis Ramos a good fight.
