Arrellano is ducking and catching as Ramos pushes in the high left jab from outside to measure and then leaps in with left hook leads upstairs and down. Arrellano is trying to time Ramos with the short right hand and not quite planting it as Ramos drops his face low by the waist. Nice uppercut by Arrellano pushing Ramos into a corner. Extended combination by Arrellano, looking to crack Ramos' shell with strong left jabs and right uppercuts placed on the crease between Ramos' forearms. Ramos is rocked a bit in the final twenty seconds, unable to escape.

Round 8

Clinch. Break. Arrellano is caught by a light left hook around the guard. Ramos pops him with a jab while sliding outside, then catapults himself inside and presses into Arrellano's chest while pumping shots into the body with one arm wrapped around Arrellano. Uppercut by Ramos inside. Arrellano is warned for dropping his skull down on Ramos'. They wrestle and push apart when asked by the ref. Lead looping right by Arrellano leaning forward, countered by a left hook over the ear. Ramos sweeps a few body shots in and leans against Arrellano, taking a breather. Lead left hook by Ramos, ducked. Arrellano is looking for a counter hook but Ramos lands a quick right uppercut on the bottom of the chin, beating him to the punch. Arrellano is pushed into the ropes, where Ramos slaps the body. Clubbing right by Ramos as Arrellano bends down in front of him to plow his way off the ropes.

Ramos, worst finisher in the sport? :think

It really isn't a case of being feather-fisted (he's no monstrous puncher, but he obviously can hit some) but more just his attitude. If he doesn't one-hit you as he effectively did with Shimoda he stands very little chance of getting rid of someone. If he put it on Arrellano following hot on the heels of any of those knockdowns - even though none of them really buzzed Arrellano too badly - he could have overwhelmed him and brought on a ref stoppage before Arrellano could regather himself. You get the feeling that if he did have someone obviously hurt, unless it was a 100% sure thing he wouldn't go in for the kill.

 

Round 9

Arrellano is turning and squatting, raising his arms over his face as he looks to avoid squaring up to Ramos' hooks jumping in. Ramos pokes the body with his jab and leans in for spells, working mostly blocked uppercuts. Arrellano fishes with his jab and the right hand over Ramos' shoulder. Nobody really gets anything in clean.

Round 10

Arrellano eats a jab from outside as Ramos darts in and out. Right arm by Ramos, coiling around the neck of Arrellano and holding on. Ramos is lunging in with the high jab, making Arrellano fall back and turn his face as Ramos jumps in and clings to him, leaning down and resting his cheek on Arrellano's shoulder. Ramos begins to shrug and lift his arms to beckon the crowd, as if daring Arrellano to rumble with him in the last minute. Instead Arrellano plods into more clinches and takes more grazing jabs on the top of the head. They begin to exchange straight power combos after the ten second warning clap, both landing a few solid ones.
