Torres has some of the slowest hands I've ever seen.

    Round 4

Jhonson is floating around the perimeter, landing hard right jabs on the button as Torres stubbornly plods after him with his hands high but not doing much to keep out those stinging jabs or the shuddering left hands that come crashing through every few orbits. Torres is getting rocked badly by some of these rights and nearly losing his balance. He manages to stay up and keep coming. Jhonson is tireless, moving and jabbing. They tie up and the referee warns Jhonson for a rabbit punch, just a love tap really. Hugely dominant round for Jhonson. Anothe clinch, with Torres tossing himself at Jhonson's legs and clinging on for dear life as Jhonson spins.

Booo, Yudel Jhonson switched to red Nike high tops instead of the Everlast that I wear. Looks like he just lost some cool points to me. And him not pulling the trigger enough against Torres does that too.

I love when a fighter preemptively guards against a rabbit punch, the way that Jhonson's doing this round.

    Round 5

Hard lead lefts by Jhonson thrown effortlessly from long range simply dent Torres' face with immense force, nearly snapping his neck. Jhonson could outbox Torres in his sleep. This is not riveting stuff. Torres keeps trying, flicking out a slow double jab during which time Jhonson is able to completely circumvent him with a few quick steps before Torres has even begun to execute the second jab. Jhonson is completely picking him apart from outside, but showing very little urgency in getting rid of Torres who is not looking like a threat.

    50-45 Jhonson.

In other words, the roofs of our mouths are getting stickier and stickier. We need a nice cool drink of Luis Ortiz to lubricate the pipes! (no latent homo)

    Round 6

Torres takes the initiative and decides to take it upon himself to make this into a fight. Sloppy uppercuts. Nothing doing. Jhonson easily blocks them and steps outside, back into his successful but less than exhilarating rhythm. Stiff right jabs land, and are now followed by quick pendulous left uppercuts as Jhonson changes the record...or at least moves the needle by an inch. Torres wants to fight tonight, and Jhonson is not obliging. Torres plods across the ring and finds that Jhonson is already several steps away from where he'd been fixing on trapping him. I don't think Torres landed a single thing. Zero punches. Not many from Jhonson, either - but more than enough.

    60-54

Torres makes my punches look crisp and speedy.

Why is Jhonson showing this guy so much respect?

    Round 7

Torres has a point deducted immediately for a right uppercut to the gonads in a clinch. :patsch Academic.

Jhonson is unperturbed by the low blow, and is still zipping around with movement that ably mystifies Torres...landing jabs and long lefts alike with impunity. Torres chases, missing his jab. Jhonson pops him with that lead left to the face. Torres looks very frustrated and gives up his pursuit in order to yank up his trunks and heave a big sigh. Jhonson is winning the foot race on the squared track; in fact he's several laps ahead. Jab from Jhonson, first punch by either in almost a minute. Clinch. Ref warns both to watch heads. A headbutt opening up a cut would actually be welcome here. NO drama. None.
