Atlas soapboxes about that national commission that boxing sorely needs (and needs specifically to be headed by...hmm, any ideas? :think) citing the 99-91 cards - which are the same as my own - as examples of judges who need to be called into the commissioner's office and chewed out and ordered to explain what they saw. :roll:

Yeah, because it wasn't like the couple of rounds he gave Jargal that I & those judges didn't were close ones that could be debated either way or anything... I can see the reasons for giving Jargal the 7th-9th, but they are hardly ironclad and if you think so or can't see reasons for giving them instead to Raheem YDKSAB.

Osuna, fully settled into his role taken over from Joe Tessitore as Teddy's ass-licker, parrots that 97-93 is OK but the wider cards are "unacceptable". Ironically, he was more likeable replacing the much loved Brian Kenny in the studio than he is replacing Tessitore as ringside shill.

Juan Antonio Rodriguez vs. Yenifel Vicente, 8 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Round 1

Rodriguez is dropping the right jab on the shorter Vicente walking forward. Vicente ducks and sticks right hands into the stomach of the lanky southpaw. Rodriguez is swerving to either side as he walks in, keeping his right forearm at 90 degrees, thumb at his eye socket. Vicente doesn't even bother lunging up to headhunt, instead circling and shrugging as he lifts his arms to keep the blood flowing and sticking in 1-2s on the body.

It's funny because Osuna, who actually is Latino, keeps pronouncing it the way it actually should be pronounced, maybe hoping to politely throw a bone Teddy's way - but the schmuck ignores it and keeps saying it wrong. atsch

 

Round 2

Rodriguez is walking forward, pawing the right jab and then swooping in with left uppercuts as Vicente languishes in a corner. Jabs and straights are fired into the body by Vicente as he dances around Rodriguez, but he isn't leaning in very far to commit to landing and is quickly chased out when Rodriguez drops his own drawbridge right jab stepping forward.

Round 3

Rodriguez is walking Vicente down, putting out long right jabs. Vicente is bouncing around nervously, caroming off the ropes. Rodriguez catches him pinballing off the ropes with a glancing left cross and Vicente tumbles back through the ropes. Rodriguez is walking forward and looping in lefts on the body as Vicente backs out and circles quickly in a low crouch with earmuffs on, sticking jabs up in the air. Vicente jumps in to hold and hits the body while holding.
