    Round 4

Ramos lays in the corner and beckons Vargas in, waving at him with his glove. Vargas keeps trying to flurry in and poke the body of Ramos, but Ramos has fast counters waiting for him as he leans against the turnbuckle. They both tire of this pattern and begin to circle the ring again, with Vargas trying to crouch down and touch the body of Ramos but getting his fist slapped away as Ramos turns from him. Ramos now tries to leap in with power leads. Vargas tries to counter him coming in with a double jab but it whistles by his ear. Ramos jogging backward and circling in a wide arc around Vargas. Ramos blocks a slow Vargas hook with his forearm at 90 degrees.

    39-37 Ramos

    Round 5

They're talking about how the corners are giving the strategy "turn him so that the sun is to your back and in his eyes" - while doing this, the ESPN cameraman brilliantly decides to shoot from an angle where the glare makes the action invisible! :patsch

Tessitore then tells them to "show that again!" when they cut away. :patsch

As for the round itself - it's just Ramos dancing around the perimeter, and Vargas failing to cut the ring off and walking into jabs at the corners. Ramos leans into a clinch and then punches out of it at the end of the round.

Nothing really exceptional going on here. I'm pumped for the main event, though.

    Round 6

Vargas immediately starts hammering Ramos with a sequence of slow but powerful hooks, mostly to the body. Ramos wriggles his way out of range and begins to keep Vargas at the end of his jab. Ramos leans in and clinches again every time Vargas starts to burst forward. Ramos lands a hookercut to the body on the way into a clinch. There's a lot of grabbing and grinding. Ramos is letting single shots go before initiating the clinches. Vargas tries to twist shots upward into the chest of Ramos as they wrestle but can't get off with any power.

    59-55 Ramos

    Round 7

They show the accuracy stats, and both are only connecting with about a fifth of their shots. That seems about right.

Ramos is still potshotting on the outside and falling into clinches. He lands a nice hook on the inside but Vargas responds with a short uppercut. Ramos gallops to his right, then stops on a dime and gallops to his left. Vargas just plods along with his hands up.

    69-64 Ramos

Even for a weak-unknown division, Ramos will never mount to anything in it.
