These Golden Boy cards are the only thing that could make me miss Uncle Bobby.

Hmm, well okay, taking out Vikingo faster than LSC would be a statement that you're ready for the big kids' table.

(even though it was almost five years ago, with a 3-year layoff for Terrazas in the interim...)

    Round 2

Díaz is finding Terrazas with the right jab even as the older man ducks straight down and rolls his upper half, dipping and weaving as he pecks the body and chops at the head from a careful outer-middle distance. Nice combos by Díaz, hooking the body off the flush jab on the face. Terrazas is struggling with Díaz's jab and movement, smoothly gliding around like a Roomba, placing the jab and body shots with confidence with his feet planted firmly but not anchored.

    10-9 Díaz

    20-16 Díaz

    Round 3

Díaz is playing some overhead patty-cake with Terrazas, high-fiving the pawed left jab with his unclenched right glove. Díaz countering with short left uppercuts on the belly and right hooks on the ear stepping in. Terrazas forced to give up ground, jumping in swinging wild hooks, missing, and tying up. Tentative double jabs from outside by Terrazas before hopping in place, betraying his anxiety over walking into counters. Díaz takes a sliding half step backward with his rear foot and buoys himself off the canvas for momentum, HUGE SHOVELING LEFT UPPERCUT PLANTED SQUARELY ON THE BODY AT PERFECT RANGE, LANDING WITH A LOUD SMACK, TERRAZAS IS ON HIS KNEES, TAKING A FULL COUNT!!!

    KO3!!!!!

This was a pointless mismatch (stick a fork in Vikingo - he's the best name on Jo-Jo's record but in reality this is his 4th or so best scalp taking circumstances into account) but damn if that wasn't a sick body shot KO.

I'm still kind of bitter about the Mijares robbery but at the end of the day I do like Terrazas, and really hope this is the wake-up call for him to retire (and stay that way) before he gets seriously hurt.

Has there been any chirping back from GRJ or is this a one-sided media feud?

Díaz prefers GRJ specifically (as he feels he is owed it; he is his mandatory) but says he will "settle" for a match with any FW champ...

Always kind of sad to see a proud Mexican guerrero having the epiphany of "I'm not going to get up. I'm going to ride this count, this is happening..."

I don't think it was pointless at all. He demonstrated that not only is he better than the 3rd and 2nd tier fighters in the sport, but that he is levels above them.

I'm sure putting on a dominant performance against a former champion and veteran and winning with body punches like he did tonight helps his confidence significantly as he looks to have reached his prime and look like a complete fighter.

His next step is a title. GRJ would be a hell of an intersting fight.

Great performance from JoJo, and impressive KO for such a featherfist, but it should be taken into consideration this is the first journeyman opponent JoJo has faced in like his last 4 or 5 fights. Avila, Rivera, Garcia, Cancio, Tamayo, Alvarado, Velez are all a level or two above him and all have solid set of whiskers. So don't get all carried away by this, he's not some violent KO artist all of a sudden, that was the equivalent of Garcia taking on Salta.
