Only seen Duarte-Perez. Decent but Duarte basically took over in the fifth round.

Gonzalez conqueror Mercito Gesta a part of Duno's group. Should have been able to give valuable advice to defeat the Mexican.

Pretty decent scrap; the crafty Pinoy journeyman I expected to give hell to (and possibly spring the upset on) the raw unbeaten Mexican swarmer did his part for about twelve minutes and then shat the bed when he the body shots began taking a toll on him, it was all Duarte from the 5th on, nearly had Pérez out a few times in the second half.

Hmm. Really doubt the fight outcome changes with different gloves; sounds like sour grapes. (and I was backing Pérez)

So no clue what the "C" in Romero C. Duno stands for? Anybody? Last chance to help me out here...

Nah...I've also been trying to find it for BoxRec purposes, along with the T in Barriga's full name.

His opponent learned to appreciate body shots.

But I have narrowed the C in Duno's name to be either "Cervo" or "Corpuz." But I'm not sure which one it is lol

Duno has a recipe that is proven to be a lucrative hit in the US market - humble & soft-spoken boyish-looking Filipino with a crowd-pleasing style and KO power. I'm not saying he could be "the next Pacquiao" (that appellation gets thrown around way too casually, and is nearly always catastrophically wrong) but he could be the next big Flip to become a major attraction over here, now that Donaire's star has dimmed and Pac himself is more than one foot out the door.

...and he speaks way better English than Pac did at this stage in his career (or hell, than he does now)

Ah, was thinking "Crisanto" or "Claudio" due to each one's prevalence in the PI.

Rather not guess incorrectly, so I suppose I'll just have to hold my nose and leave the initial. Gr.

    Round 1

González is shooting the southpaw jab into the chest and carrying the left cross through, skidding off the near-side left shoulder of Duno. Quick downward slashing combos from Duno hitting González on his frontal lobe & temples. Some piston combos from González brought from mid-section to head, but unable to get through cleanly with any one spearing punch despite leaving no gaps between them and targeting all up & down the legal strike zone. Duno just able to move his arms that quickly in response, very alert on defense.

10-9 Duno, close, not too much drama
