ESPN2 Saturday Night Fights 8/28 @ 9pm EST: Omri Lowther vs. Henry Lundy RBR

Round 8

Lundy's a southpaw again. He's also very defensive, with the full ring at his back. Lowther comes in with herky-jerky movement in his upper body but his hands are far less kinetic. Lundy goes back into an orthodox stance and rips Lowther with a left hook - a good punch for him. Lowther may have been bothered by it as his head movement now borders on "twitchy" whenever Lundy feints. Lundy hangs in front of Lowther looking to let him lead but then makes the first move with a leaping hook. Lowther has his head snapped back by a pair of stinging shots - WOAH! It looked like Lundy might knock him out there.

 

Atlas on Huck: He's not very good technically, he's pretty one-dimensional, but he's very strong and he's very continent. He's especially continent right now.

 

Round 9

Lundy is bouncing on his toes and very comfortably popping the left jab. Lowther is posing and getting hit, trying a few body jabs but mostly paying for them. Lundy slows down his backtracking to let Lowther catch up to him and glides off to his left hoping to draw Lowther in. Lundy again winds up getting impatient and leading himself. Lowther eating a lot of leather this round. BIG ONE TWO from Lundy. Lowther's face is red. MASSIVE hooks landing. Lundy lands an orthodox 1-2.

Yikes!

 

He will get knocked out by Lebedev and never again come near a world title; the good news is there is absolutely nothing wrong with his bowel movements.

 

It would be the perfect cherry on this season's cake.

 

Round 10

Lundy standing in close and throwing short little left hooks while Lowther tries to power-jab his way through. Lowther digs the jab down to the body and backs Lundy up. High jabs now, blocked. Lundy hooks and throws wild upward right hands (not uppercuts, upward right crosses, palm facing down, like he was trying to hit Valuev). Lowther down off a shove. Big hook from Lundy on the ear of Lowther. Lundy trades with him and lands another crackling hook. Lowther's head is lolling around on his neck as he gets nailed repeatedly. Lundy couldn't finish a crossword puzzle in Nickelodeon Magazine. atsch

Lowther desperately assails Lundy with a 1-2-1-2 to the body but saved too little for too late.
