Ref was right, he abandoned the fight. You can NOT turn your back like that... that's the sign that you quit. No 2 shits about it, he quit.

Great stoppage. You can't turn your back. Simple as that.

    Lopez's comments:

I connected on him and he was real hurt. I couldn't see how badly hurt because he turned his back on me, but clearly a good shot and he was hurt enough to do that. I had a bit more left to show, but that is where it stopped and so that's all we get to show today and it never hurts to stay fresh and make it a short night's work. I am going for a world title and these are the footsteps. I am training like an elite and it has shown and that is what it takes if you want to make it happen.

Yeah, that was a nasty hook that Josesito landed to force the stoppage.

Yeah, after watching it back it was pretty damned bad. You don't see that too often in that manner.

Teddy Atlas makes a great point; there is a 4th option: punch back.

Of course that is the one that opens you up at most risk of getting KTFO, but it also is what your opponent will expect the least when coming in to finish you off and many come-from-behind miracle kayos have been scored exactly that way.

Hold, run, knee, hit back. That is the exhaustive list of what you can do when you are hurt in the ring. The about-face? Never, ever okay.

That's a hell of a left hook if he felt the after effects to the back of his head. Kind of like when Kermit thought Sergio Martinez headbutted him, but it was really his left hand.

Yeah, he's delusional. Says he was never hurt, bull****, why'd you turn your back?

I like fighters who admit they got hit hard.

Yep. He can talk all he wants, but actions speak louder than words. He got hit hard the going got tough and he turned his back. He bitched out. Massive respect to anybody that steps in that ring, but that was a ***** move. For a 20 fight professional to that was pretty shameful.
