Acosta down, slip. Gonzalez is pressing in and slapping down on Acosta's chin with both gloves, not generating power but just laying hands on him and hoping to chip away through accumulation. Acosta leans back and writhes, slipping shots with his back on the ropes. Acosta is trying to sink far back enough to find space to counter. Gonzalez is smothering him on the ropes and in corners as Acosta maneuvers into them, touching him up. Acosta hurt by an uppercut. Gonzalez is grinding into Acosta and pressing atop him, dragging him off the ropes. They flick jabs center ring.

Gonzalez is whipping in right hooks and poking into Acosta's body with his left. Acosta is skipping along the ropes, trying to find an escape route but constantly bumping into a solid barrier with his back at every turn - rope or turnbuckle. Gonzalez is leaving him no angles to find open water. The ref announces a cut from a headbutt, accidental. Gonzalez is bearing down on Acosta and slapping at him as Acosta looks for quick straight right counters. Acosta can't back Gonzalez off and is only able to get one shot off at a time before having to retreat or be smothered and paddled. Acosta circles right and turns his body to avoid the ropes, flashing out a short left hook. Gonzalez moves in on him. Clinch. Straight lunging flurry by Gonzalez. Acosta caught and hurt, holds.

Gonzalez is doubling the right jab up top and then burying the long straight left to the body. Acosta is gun-shy, leaning and swerving in a quarter-crouch. BIG 1-2 by Gonzalez, rocking Acosta on his heels. Acosta circles right and paws out his left jab. Acosta spins his left arm out in the air, twirling it around Gonzalez's flicking right.
