ESPN2 TNF: Raymundo Beltran vs. Ji Hoon Kim RBR

Round 3

Beltran is working the left hook to the head and body as Kim tries to either jab under his elbows or ship another right hand to the dome. Beltran is working the body very sharply with the left hook, taking advantage of every opening Kim gives him. Kim is jabbing steadily while backing up and throwing arm punches now with the right. Beltran digs the hook and a short stabbing right to the body every time Kim opens up. Beltran has Kim on the ropes, cringing and trying to curl up into a ball. Beltran keeps hammering the body as Kim flees.

That isn't really how it works. If you only win 15 seconds of a round, it doesn't matter that you have the other guy badly hurt and "maybe almost out" in that 15 seconds. Unless you score a knockdown or something, once the 2:45 mark comes and goes and you've already clearly lost the round it's too late.

 

Round 4

Beltran is letting Kim walk into his straight right hand now. Beltran pops the right hand out of the corner. Beltran comes forward as Kim backs away, and Kim pushes him down to the mat. No knockdown. BIG BODY SHOTS by Beltran! Left hooks! Kim is wincing and tucking his elbows against his body, turning partly away. Right hands by Kim, trying to stave him off. Beltran is pushing Kim up against the ropes and working the body, a few to the backside but several more legal. Kim is pushing a jab and slapping down with a limp right as he retreats.
