    Well...it seems the Lawson hype wasn't quite legit. At least not all of it.

    Some things I read were like "Freddy Lawson is the guy to snatch Mayweather's zero!" - but some of that might have been tongue-in-cheek Ali Raymi, Chauncy Welliver or Manuel Charr touted as world beaters type stuff.

    Strong kid, anyway. :conf

    He might hold a belt at welterweight. Never be elite.

    Then again, my first time finally seeing Thurman (against Orlando Lora) after seeing his name crop up with similar buzz to what has surrounded Lawson's, he didn't blow me away either...but he grew on me with subsequent performances. Maybe in the future we'll see better from Lawson. Lora and Narh are guys who don't make you look too great, whoever you are.

    Lawson's got some pop and defends pretty well. Give him a jab and make him wait and time his foes on the way in, and he could develop into a pretty solid pot shot artist. :think
