I'm not sure what the end to end record is for a RBR thread, first bell of a broadcast to sign-off, but this has to already be flirting with it.

Goddamn, that feels so silly to type out Banal's full name and then on the other side of the "vs." have to put Master freaking Suro, knowing full well that isn't his real name.

BoxRec says his birth name is "Surono" but doesn't indicate whether that is his first or last, and I can't track down ANY more biographical data on him anywhere. We just have to call this goofy Indonesian poor man's Ali Raymi by his goofy ring name, I guess.

 

Been a surprisingly good card overall. A couple of robberies, a couple of mismatches, and maybe one stinker, but no regrets here staying up all night. Then again I'm literally addicted to live boxing so maybe don't listen to me.

Everyone in the ring is so weird looking, in terms of their facial structure. Banal, Suro, the ref. They could all be cast as extras if David Lynch ever set anything in SE Asia.

Banal is jabbing in on Suro, leaning to his right, extending the southpaw jab into the sternum and bringing it down as far as he dares onto the stomach, which is mostly obscured by Suro's high-hoisted trunks. Ref needs to have Suro lower those, you can't even see his navel. He's wearing his trunks like a 90 year old man wears pants with suspenders. Anyway, Banal is jabbing his torso, falling in, dropping soft left hands on his back. Not much coming back from Suro. Lots of clinching, Suro diving low and Banal laying his arms over him. Boring ugly round.
