So far this is paling next to the last Pinoy vs. Indonesian match-up we saw earlier on this card (Servania vs. Butar Butar was actually a nice little scrap, ended in an even more brutal liver shot KO than we saw on ESPN last night)

    AJ Banal vs Master Suro
    R1: 10-9
    R2: 10-9

Banal landing a big combination with an uppercut and a body shot, Suro nearly knocked down but can find his legs before, he did not touch the canvas and the ref isn't that counting as a KD and showed Banal the gesture to continue to fight. Suro recovered well after that and started to find his hands to work some nice combinations.

    Round 2

Banal is jabbing Suro's guard, backing him up. Suro down from a double right hooker-cut to body and head. Banal is shaving away on the forearms of Suro with left uppercuts thrown at half power & speed. Banal just taking it easy in there, getting some rounds in. Suro throws a sloppy right hand, then falls into a clinch and whomps some light underhanded shots against the belt line. Banal chases Suro back with a lassoed left, grazing his ear maybe. Suro is ducking in with his forearms bunched over his face, poking the hip of Banal with a light jab. Banal is sawing at the guard now with a jab yo-yoed outward from the chest.

    10-8 Banal

    20-17 Banal

edit: never mind, apparently not ruled a KD. 20-18 Banal.

    AJ Banal vs Master Suro
    R1: 10-9
    R2: 10-9
    R3: 10-9

The round starts with an accidental headclash but both aren't cut or something and ready to continue. Banal is working the right jab very well, Suro tries to be a bit more offensive but Banal is counting immediately. The uppercut from Banal is very effective so far, connecting very clean almost every time he throws it. Banal working the body with some big right hands, good body attacks.

Ref showed Banal the gesture "Come on, continue, it wasn't a KD"...i also think it wasn't a KD, no part of the body touched the canvas apart from his feet so looks ok

    Round 3

Banal is working the body with right hooks, then peppering Suro from his teeth down to his diaphragm with shoeshines. Banal is uppercutting off the jab and stemming off every attempt by Suro to rally. The only time Suro is really able to slow Banal down is accidentally, via headbutts while diving in attempting to land his own punches. Banal keeps investing to the body.

    10-9 Banal

    30-27 Banal

Suro has a knack of going the distance with Filipino fighters...Juan Martin Elorde and Jeo Santisima had to go the distance with him

    Round 4

Banal is throwing one-twos at the body and pulling back to reset. Banal giving Suro an inordinate amount of respect, until you remember that my dear Ms. Amanda Fernandez did say that Banal had made it clear beforehand that his intention here is to shake rust and get in rounds before taking on stiffer competition. So he basically admitted he was going to carry Suro in advance. Banal is easily able to sidestep the loosey-goosey jab of Suro, and zap him with left hands on his tiny oddly shaped nose. Suro manages to clap Banal with a couple of chopping rights, backing him up just before the bell and swatting at his guard with a left hook to keep the rhythm going.

    10-9 Banal, closer

    40-36 Banal

    AJ Banal vs Master Suro
    R1: 10-9
    R2: 10-9
    R3: 10-9
    R4: 10-9

Suro is a disgrace with his provoking gestures, really disgusting, he is doing nothing than stepping away from Banals jab but still provoking like he is controlling the fight. I wish him getting KTFO. Banal is controlling the fight although he looks far away from stopping Suro here. Banal should continue with his body work then he might take Suro out in a few rounds because Suros head defense looks better now, Banal did not land a lot this round apart from a big uppercut. The round was closer but only because Banal did not do a lot here and Suro finished strong.

    AJ Banal vs Master Suro
    R1: 10-9
    R2: 10-9
    R3: 10-9
    R4: 10-9
    R5: 10-9

Banal is working, working and working, landing a couple of good body shots but overall he isn't pressuring enough here, has to work more especially if Suro is going backwards and walking into the ropes, he is too passive there otherwise Suro would be in deep trouble with his horrible movement.
