Round 1

Barriga is jabbing into the guard and coasting to his right, then left, then right. Mendoza tries a right hand downstairs. Barriga catches it between his elbows, then shoots a high jab. Another diving right from Mendoza, blocked again. Jab by Barriga. Right downstairs by Mendoza, blocked. Jab up top by Barriga. Mendoza now feints a right hand and Barriga hops backward. Mendoza is approaching, stopping a pace outside and swerving behind a high guard. Barriga is rowing out the southpaw jab at the head and then delivers a straight left cross on the chin. Barriga swats Mendoza at mid-range with a quick right hook. Mendoza is caught with a left hand between the gloves while standing pat. Barriga wobbles Mendoza with a fast right check hook while turning him and sidestepping his left jab. Barriga really has that counter right hook dialed in. Left hand by Barriga caught on the gloves. Mendoza tries a right hand downstairs plunging from outside and Barriga counters with a 1-2.

Round 2

Barriga is backing away from Mendoza carefully, inch by inch, putting out a long right jab in his wake. Barriga using a southpaw version of the Philly shell, throwing some pull-counters and threading the needle with backfoot jabs, looking quite a bit like a 5'2" lefty Asian PBF. Mendoza is trudging inward, earmuffs on, drilling low with the right but not reaching. Low blow by Mendoza, warned by the ref. Barriga is jabbing at the waistband. Left hook by Mendoza, evaded by Barriga with some quick feet. Barriga is dancing around Mendoza popping him with jabs from every angle.

Round 3

Barriga is tagging Mendoza with jabs from all over, leaping away when Mendoza comes barging in with low right hands. Check hook by Barriga again, sends Mendoza nearly headlong into the ropes. Mendoza is getting frustrated, spearing the right from even further out, hitting elbow or just grazing the stomach of Barriga, and taking a receipt for it, eating straight sharp combos. Barriga is putting up the right jab to intercept Mendoza's left. Barriga bringing the left hand over and just missing past Mendoza's neck. Barriga claps Mendoza on the ear with a short left hook, then shoeshines into his guard while turning him. Swatting right hook counter by Barriga fading away from Mendoza as he falls in with his attack.

Round 4

Barriga is holding the right arm out fully extended, brushing aside Mendoza's left with it, then landing his own left hand down the middle. Barriga gives Mendoza a little playful fist bump to check his jab, then steps to one side and jabs him a couple of times in the face. Swatting hook by Barriga falling into a deep bend at the waist to slip a Mendoza two-piece. Barriga is jabbing the forearm to stay Mendoza's hand before he can pull trigger on a jab, then doubling or tripling up on the jab to score it on the body or head. Barriga so much quicker than Mendoza. Barriga still effectively utilizing the shoulder roll on the backfoot. Mendoza is unable to catch Barriga at close range with a left or a right, Barriga ducking and resurfacing all the way on the other side of Mendoza. Clinch. 1-2 by Barriga. Mendoza tries a low right hand, stuffed on the left glove of Barriga, who counters with a quick stinging right jab.
