Can’t really argue on a one round difference. Turned out to be a pretty fun fight at the end.

Yeah which is almost unbelievable given how dreadful the first three rounds were.

I wonder if Portes came in with a game plan to wait out, see what the Nicaraguan had and then start hurling the kitchen sink at him midway...or did he come in with a losing mentality and then just have something within him snap, with some inner competitive spirit telling him "nah **** this, forget his record, Niica dude isn't that good, we can beat him..."

I’d say the latter. The knockdown came right after Portes got mad due to Lopez headlocking him.

A lanky bantamweight in an XXL LeBron James jersey. :risas3:

Um, yeah. That's an image to strike fear into the hearts of your enemies. Sure.

...yeah, but there were probably multiple trigger points for him, as Portes started coming on and taking his job seriously long before the knockdown (but not until the fourth, weirdly)

Yeah Lopez wasn’t really bringing it and Portes probably found that as an invitation to turn it on.

Think we might get a repeat of the last couple of Filipino vs. Tanzanian match-ups on this card.. (I came back just in time for the finish of Carlo Peñalosa vs. Jemsi Kibazange...)

Gaballo looks like he's not here to be paid over-time

    Round 1

Kisarawe is ambling to his left, arms held low, flipping jabs up at nothing in particular while facing generally in Gaballo's direction. Kisarawe is keeping his distance, skating the ropes. Gaballo walks him down, jabbing the body, and claps some rights up above the gloves to nick his temples and works some more body shots, making Kisarawe almost lose his balance and need to grab onto the ropes. Kisarawe circling away, jabbing out sidelong. BIG left hook and right cross combos from Gaballo charging in. Kisarawe can't take it. He's wilting - and he goes to all fours. And then rides the count until nine and a half, almost daring the ref to stop it. He looks disappointed when the ref calls time in. Left hook to the liver by Gaballo, plus a quick right on the other side. Kisarawe goes to a knee again. Stays down.

    KO1!!!
