Williams tried to put the pressure on Vitali early as well and almost got knocked out in the 1st for the his trouble. Peter would get taken apart if he tried to box so his only chance to is land some crazy haymaker while bull rushing Vitali. You can count on Peter eating huge counter rights from Vitali while doing this though because he's way off balance when he misses on big punches and perfectly open for retaliation from a long opponent. I just don't want it to end in some freak injury as Peter tries to tackle Vitali while rushing him.

Just look how he fights every fight. He has no plan B.

Plan "A" is get someone on the ropes and aim squarely for the back of their onion. If you miss, keep trying over and over and eventually people will try to protect themselves by moving away and you'll get the back of the onion.

fatdrunkenslob, Boxing Guru -- excellent posts and I agree.

Peter will be eating counter rights as he comes in and Sam Peter does not do well with "Plan B"s.

i can see this being an ugly ass fight, Vitalis jab and timing being off because of ruse and peter holding/hitting/mauling when he gets caught with a right hand. I could se a john ruiz hug a thon ensuing and that might favour peter cause VK body struggles to hold him up never mind him and Peter. I think Vitali will win just cause he hits harder and has a bettter chin but i dont see either guy having it easy early on.

I don't think Vitaly's punching power is his advantage as much as his skill and accuracy are. Vitaly doesn't have near the power that Wladimir has, but he has a better chin and more stamina.

Agreed. Wladimir has greater 1-punch power than Vitali, but nowhere near the chin, cool nerves or stamina.

zulander - I don't think there will be a lot of holding in this fight, but we'll see. Maybe so after each man throws some bombs.
