Pretty good list @ the top except Hopkins is too high, and Pavlik is the most underapprciated. Wright ahead of him with a draw with Taylor and getting beat by Hopkins? Does not make sense to me

Where do I start here? Ok, you mention Tarver was 38 but you forget to mention B-Hop was 41 was the underdog, and went up two weight classes to fight him. As far as Winky Wright, you act like Bernard is a career LHW. Before the Wright fight he fought exactly one fight at LHW, and this fight was at a catchweight of 170.

Please tell me you're not seriously comparing Winky fighting at 170 to Floyd fighting at 160. I think you're smart enough to realize this is a bad comparison, and I don't think I need to waste my time explaining why it's a bad comparison.

Nard needs to beat a good prime fighter to be in the top 10? Um, the only fighter that fighter that fits that bill that would be a remotely feasible opponent for Nard would be Dawson. Of course, this is nowhere near as big of a fight as one between Hopkins and Calzaghe, and let's also not forget that Dawson is a Showtime fighter while Nard fights for team HBO.

Let's talk about the Taylor fights. Taylor was a prime undefeated fighter when these fights took place, and many people feel that Nard was robbed in both of these fights. That's ok though, you'll give him his props when he beats Calzaghe. Nevermind, no you wont. Despite the fact that Nard will be the underdog and 43 when this fight happens, Calzaghe will be going up in weight and will be a 36 year old man.

WHAT?!?! GuzRUN is not in the list and yet some people confidently say GuzRUN can beat pac and pac at the same time has been ducking him since 122lbs days!!!!!

Either ESPN is insane or the people saying GuzRun CAN beat pac is the one insane...

Oh well!? maybe GuzRUN is in the 21st in the list so he is not included or maybe in the 121st of ESPN's list?! :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

I didn't forget anything. Tarver was old, BHop was old. So...they were both old. Neither is prime, and beating Tarver at that stage wasn't that great an accomplishment IMO.

As to your "career MW"....Hopkins himself said he could have been at LHW for a long time, he just trained to stay at MW to break the record. He was a big MW who made the move to LHW easily. Wright is NOT a LHW, and is a small MW. Hopkins was clearly larger and Wright was clearly not suited for that class. He was slow, lethargic and looked heavy and bloated. I am not the only one to notice this.

Let me rephrase the other statement. The fighter doesn't have to be prime, but he needs to be a very good fighter still near his top form. Tarver hadn't looked good since the first Johnson fight. If Hopkins had beaten Wright at 160, that would have been impressive. Beating Calzaghe at this point would be huge.

As far as when I will and won't give props, I have outlined what I will and won't do. You seem to feel the need to turn me into some kind of hater of Hopkins, something I have never displayed, so that it invalidates my opinion. Names don't represent the current state of the fighter.

    This list is dumb.

Pound for pound, Wlad is dominating his weight class much more than many guys on that list.

Kessler should be on there as well.

    Oscar? Cory Spinks?

You're argument is starting to dissentigrate now, you're even trying to amend it. It's ok though, there's no need for us to debate this all night. You said yourself that Hopkins beating Calzaghe would be huge. So if Hopkins wins, I would expect that you would stop underrating him.:good

PAC was 24 and champion and have accomplished more... He had destroyed Lebwadha and Julio in high profile undercards.. Thats why he got the big fights. People and boxing insiders loved him..he was legit..he had a buzz

Meanwhile how old is Guzman?..his days are almost over and no he hasnt created any buzz to be heard

Pacquiao was a nobody to the majority of the world before he beat MAB. He got ranked because he beat him. He was a good fighter before he beat MAB though. Not being ranked doesn't make you a bad fighter, which is what someone here is trying to imply. Dawson isn't ranked...is he bad?

Guzman's age isn't in play yet, so it isn't relevant. If he was slowing down, so be it. He is unbeaten and just beat a top level SFW, so lets not be blind here.

You missed my point..even after unbelievable wins ..I mean impressive as to put Bobby Czyz, Big George off teh edge of their seats..

After all the insiders were raving what a fighter he was and should move up.

Nobody..no one ever called him Supernatural...

No one was saying hed beat MAb or so and so.

This Guzman has done nothing..NOTHING !! and hes going to beat the no2 fighter on the planet.??? Hs supernatural...I saw him against Soto he sucked ASS!

And please Dawson is a better prospect than Guzman...Guzman is not even a prospect

Guzman looked very good against Soto. You should stop rating by whether you like the style or not. Guzman is a championship level fighter, so you're right, he is not a prospect. And Dawson isn't either.

I didn't miss your point. It had nothing to do with what I was getting at. Not being rated P4P doesn't mean you are not a good fighter.

He looked good against Soto?...Is that why hes yelling to evryone "Fight Me??" I guess the majority hates his "style" because the truth is ..hes not selling any PPVs

and yes he is good..but far from great...lots of good fighters out there
