yup...and that was the one of the worst fights ive ever seen, and one of the softest body shot kayoes ever.
ODLH Hopkins no.1? Ridiculous. I have never seen anyone react the way oscar did to a supposed killer bodyshot. In fact, my favourite part of that entire fight (please, look for yourself post-fight) was Hopkins asking De La Hoya what had done the damage and Oscar was touching his side as if to say 'Remember? You hit me here. *wink' They were probably laughing about it together backstage after the fight as Hopkins signed the golden boy promotions partner contract. - 'Thanks for not bruising the face Hops' - 'No problems O-De. I sign here right?' - 'Sure do. How was my acting with the bodyshot'? - 'Hmm, a bit over the top with the canvas punching, but they'll buy it' - 'Cheers, I studied with Russell Crowe for that.' - 'Never liked that guy.' - 'Yeah, me neither. The boxing scenes in Cinderella man, wow, now that was over the top. Now I think about it, I should have just practised it in the gym' - 'Or watch Gatti v Dorin. That was a real hummer' - 'Yeah, that was nice. He didn't have that punch when I pounded him.' - 'Lucky you O-De. Anyway, gotta fly. Stay beautiful.' - 'You know me Hops. Later.'
dela hoya at number 1? damn. rjj's ko is waaaaaay better than that. and i mean waaaaaay better. hill looked like he was shot on the side. more real if compared to de la hoya's "it's so painful that i'll pound the canvass" act
Jones-Hill is #1 by a mile. Most body shot KO's take a while to set in...this one was instant. You could HEAR the crack. I don't remember if it was Adrian Stone or Shannan Taylor - but Mosley stopped one of them with a pretty wicked body blow that I would have put on the list
Hopkins-De La Hoya is probably the weakest looking body shot KO I have ever seen. Roy Jones-Virgil Hill is my favorite. I also liked Arguello-Kobayashi a lot, and Ward's body shot KOs over Sanchez and Quinonez.
