But one thing about Alexis is that he did that alot, he would look so so in the beginning and always look brilliant towards the end. Bobby had something to do with that. I was a young student of the game when he was fighting and i remember as a kid not being impressed with Alexis in the early rounds, my pops taughtme how to appreaciate the technhal and paitent figthers, Before you knew it :bbb:bbb:bbb:!::dead Arguello still CAMPEON
Chacon was awesome at Featherweight just inconsistant and lacked discipline. The losses to Olivares came right slap bang in Bobbys prime IMO, the partying and that didnt help, but Olivares beat him good.
Chacon's fight against Danny Lopez was one of his better performances. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U0JRhQppOU[/ame]
He has one weakness of boxing knwledge and he must be lying I think McGrains a good poster but he aint superman. Really? Aint watched it in a while, will give it a view tommorow. IIRC Alexis started so-so having problems with Chacons change in angles, but then started to up his game and got Chacon out of there. :good Never seen that, RB highly recommends it aswell. Thanks.
There are loads of fighters I don't know a lot about. There are loads of lists of five where you could ask me to put them in order and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.
I agree with your views on Chavez, he is top 10 for me & outside of the top 20 is just plain underrating the man.
i personally hate the man but i respect the **** out of him and have him around 18. i'm more than open to argument for higher; imo there's just too many guys that deserve top 20 spots for me to put him in the top 10 or even 15.
Ive actually have been around Chavez and was very dissapointed with his primadonna attitude. However Ive followed Chavez alot in his interviews(spanish and English) and he seemes like a good man, however , from my experiences hes a dick:yep However i wont take that out on his greatness as a fighter, i have no problem saying he is a top 10ish ATG fighter.
exactly! personally and some of the "generous" calls (the early career DQ loss that was reversed) that went his way should not detract from what he did accomplish in the ring. greatest mexican, one of the great pressure fighters ever, one of the greatest performances of the 80s (vs rosario), fight of the decade (vs taylor), long reigns over 3 divisions, likely p4p #1 for parts of 80s and 90s...i may not like the man but **** it's hard to argue against all that
Sugar ray is certainly number one for me followed by Greb. I dont think Fitz deserves to be a top 10 p4p fighter. Duran and Ross for me should be higher but it's still a very good list; no less than i'd expect from your Mcgrain
What a bunch of garbage...To omit Benny Leonard and Harry Greb is sacrilege... These are boxing historians from ESPN ?B.S. I say...What fighter on their list had a record like Harry Greb ? What fighter licked hall of famers like tunney, Gibbons, Levinsky,Rosenbloom, tommy loughran, Gunboat Smith, Jack Dillon,Mickey Walker, Bill Brennan. billy Miske etc, most who weighed 15 to 50 pounds more than Harry Greb ? The answer is NONE...In a three hundred bout career, and with only ONE EYE, forb the last part of his career, to boot...I am avoiding watching ESPN from now on as it is not to be taken seriously... And of course leaving out Sam Langford also, along with Bob Fitzimmons, Ketchel and Mickey Walker, shows no boxing acumen from the ESPN shills...We owe it to the immortal fighters I have mentioned to never forget their greatness ever... ESPN...Shame....
