IN a completely random interruption i'm going to direct you to the inept posts regarding the mighty Canto here http://www.***********.com/forums/showthread.php?t=386624 Do you post on this forum under an alt, Obama, or perhaps read it without posting to learn from the jggernauts of boxing knowledge here?. If so, begone and never return.
How you doing Mr Bienstock You are one of the few that rivals me in boxing knowledge And i agree with you on Harry greb being a major omission. Dont get carried away with Gunboat, brennan theyarent hall of famers. With all due respct how old are you Burt?
But it's a P4P ranking. Fitz was a middleweight, Ali was 210 lbs. So if the accomplishments at the weight were the same, they get ranked the same. Fitz had accomplishments at LHW and HW, therefore he must be higher. Ditto with Marciano. He was 183 lbs so his title reign at heavyweight, although inferior to Louis and Ali, is superior *pound for pound*. Marciano has to be on any top 10 P4P list for this fact alone.
MAKE ME! This is a forum to express my opinion ,and I went through WW2, and I will not be threatened by the likes of you....
So in that case James Toney and Roy Jones should be rated higher since they came all the way up from middle? Actually it should count for more since they beat a bigger heavyweight.......... If you wanna say he wasnt a linear champ well then what about Michael Spinks???? You know all you historians can gtfoh if youi think fitz was better than SPinks Even though this poll is not that good, theres a lot hate here cause every fighter was American,Mexican,or south american:yep
anarci,i know Gunboat Smith and Bill Brennan are not hall of famers, but bthey were large heavyweights who outweighed Harry Greb by 15 to 40 lbs...Today would a Marvin Hagler,160 lbs tackle a 200 lb Bill Brennan? Of course not but Greb beat Bill Brennan four times... As far as my age goes...My social security number is in Roman numerals...I saw my first pro card in 1942,while a youngster with my dad...The fight was between Beau Jack and Terry Young, St Nicks Arena, NY...Let's say I've been around the block...b.b.
