FLoyd Mayweather, Joe Calzaghe, & Kelly Pavlik I just saw this on ESPN. What do you guys think. I think this list is biased towards the american fighters floyd and kelly. joe only gets on b/c he beat b-hop. i think it's unfortunate that manny p doesnt get more love. Being a Cotto fan, i would have loved to see his name up there, but american sport's writers probably dont know much about him. he'll be up there next year hopefully. anyways, i'd take pavlik out and put pacman in. what do you guys think?
Definitely.. Pacquiao should be a nominee instead of Pavlik and Floyd hasn't even had a fight this year and retired.. Definitely a biased list if you ask me..
If it was for last year, then Mayweather I guess, but then I wouldn't have Pavlik nor Calzaghe nominated.. Why not Cotto? He did defeat Judah & Mosley last year..
by last year, i assume it is from last summer till this summer. with that said, i guess you can put pavlik and joe c.
The guys who do the ESPY nominations obviously don't know jack about the sport except for the elite standouts. I've kept track of the ESPY nominations for a while and they always seem to get it prety damn wrong and definitely leave out very worthy names on that list. So don't even lose sweat over it cause it's a joke of an award show anyway.
Well yeah, probably if you counted the first half of this years fights too.. Still should have Pac instead of Pavlik though..
how about i was watching PTI yesterday. wilbon and kornheiser were not there so wack ass JA Adande and Bob Ryan were hosting. Anyways, during that final 1 minute rundown, they BRIEFLY mentioned the pac fight and they definitely disrepected the fight. they said something along the lines that the fight only mattered to the philipine people since pac is more important there than anything else. i was like what a bunch of assholes who know absolutely nothing about fights. i just hope that the monday after the cotto/marg fight that Kevin Blackistone is on Around the Horn and he gives props to those 2 guys. He is my favorite ATH contestant b/c he is the only one who always gives props to boxing.
