This is going down in Gualtieris hometown of Wuppertal in Germany on July first. Gualtieri is a bit of a cutie, has some speed but little power. He is ranked at 93 by boxrec and hasnt fought any worldclass fighters. but he has fought 12 rounds in his last 5 fights, so he has some experience there. Falcao hasnt fought any world beaters either, but he fought slightly better competition. and he has that silver medal from the olympics, which at least shows he has got some potential. and he is a southpaw. gualtieri hasnt had an international amateur pedegree.

the fight itself could be interesting.........but for the IBF middleweight championship of the world......thats kinda a sad joke. anyway, the winner will hold the IBF crown and that makes him a player, even if he is undeserving. so who wins?? under normal conditions i would pick falcao without hesitation. gualieri has rather basic talent, so a olympic silver medalist should be able to pick him apart skillwise. add the southpaw factor and bigger punch........i would heavily favor falcao. BUT: falcao has had some lackluster performances, has been inactive and could be overlooking gualieri. and it´s in germany, so close rounds could go to gualieri.

the picks falcao, but i wouldnt bet on it. i could see gualieri springing a surprise.

    opinions ??

I've sort of assumed that Falcoa will be 100% focused for this one and true turn up and just sort of out-monster his guy. But I haven't really thought about it that much and you're right, maybe it could be a bit more fun than that.

he falcao comes in at his best, he should win. but his inactivity and some of his performances kinda worry me. he had a pretty tough fight with partrice volny........and i think that talentwise, gualieri and volny are roughly the same level. so this could get way more competative than alot of people may think.
