well Jones didnt spark him but he very nearly did. Barrera was badly badly hurt another punch could hve sparked him out but it never and thats what matters.

I havent seen the Barrera fight so cannot comment on it but Barrera had a solid chin 100% no doubt about it.

This aint rocket science, Addie, why is this so hard for you to grasp ? :huh

The guy got his ass kicked by Junior Jones & Manny Pacquiao, the ref saved his ass so its a TKO, if the fight never got stopped, he could have ended up in the morgue - which would be fine by me because as you know, I despise the little ****in worm.

I looked it up to be sure. Latin America covers the whole of South America, Central America and the Carribean so that includes places like Brazil and Argentina where several of my picks are from.

Then you think Chavez is far too low, I can agree there can be a case made for him being higher but ahead of Monzon? No friggin way.

Yeah it crossed my mind he was low but the guys in front of him all have a case to be near the top.

Oscar was born in LA so no hes not Latino. Benitez was also born in the US but moved back to Puerto Rico and became a citizen. I knew it wouldnt be perfect in terms of placement mostly I just wanted to see who I left out.

How is Oscar not latino:? Mexican-Americans consider themselves Latino, i should know . Also manny ortiz, and carlos Ortiz were on there and both are Latino, americans, same with Camacho who although born in pr was raised in NY just like Palomino born in Mex,raised in so cal.

Chavez moved up the weights very successfully, reached 87-0 at one point (which I know isnt the be all, before I get bombarded with the Tijuana cab driver thing but its still unprecedented in the modern era & must be taken on board) & was ranked the best p4p for a good few years in a very talented era... I understand that Monzon was one of the best ever MWTs but Chavez can claim that for both SFWT & LWWT.

Also... as effective as he was - & Monzon was mightily effective - he was very big for a MWT & used his size a lot by imposing himself on opponents, nothing wrong with that, he couldnt have done this without his amazing accuracy or ability to close the show like a champion but all in all & especially in a p4p sense, I think Chavez was the superior fighter, both in career served & skillset.
