I remember on eminent professional boxer explaining the only way professional boxing could regain its lost popularity is if it became like MMA where on organization like the UFC controlled everything. It occurred to me that is sort of what the WSB is doing. This is especially evident in the cruiserweight super tournament. The WSB may have some innovations that fans appreciate i.e. open scoring and a video based reevaluation / appeal for questionable decisions and competitive tournament contests instead of a hero versus the hopeless like established boxing often does. Hopefully WSB has some longevity and elevates professional boxing above its current deteriorated state.
