Thinking about it...he had a quite deserving run for his career..
    Josue Marquez 3X
    Percy Hayles 1X
    Ray Lampkin 2X
    Roberto Duràn 1X(at lightweight!)
    Alfonso Frazer 1X
    Guts Ishimatsu 1X
    Vicente Mijares 1X
    Buzzsaw Yamabe 1X
    Edwin Viruet 1X
    His losses are literally to:
Antonio Gomez(WBA Featherweight champion, notable wins contain Antonio Cervantes)
Roberto Duràn(don't ask me who's this guy is lmao)
Saoul Mamby(WBC Super Lightweight champion, beat Sang Hyun Kim for the title, drew with Edwin Viruet and lost to Cervantes)
This...on my opinion is how good his resume was.

    It's a crime that he's not.

2 guys from the 70s who belong in the HOF ASAP are De Jesus and Rodrigo Valdez.

Good call. I never considered Valdez. He was a superb fighter. Didn’t he drop Monzon in one of their fights? Did anyone else ever drop Monzon? Great shout.

Yes, he did. Only time Monzon was ever down.

Valdez's knockout of Briscoe is one of the best KOs in history.

I've read from a few sources that Monzon was down a few times in 1 of his early career losses, but Valdez is the only fighter ever to drop him during his title reign.

The good news is Valdes was just inducted.

The bad news is '70s fighters are apparently now considered "old timers." :(

Apart from obviously Duran, I gotta say I ain’t really heard of any of the rest except maybe Lampkin an Viruet who both I remember Duran beating in title defenses. How many of those on the lists are also hall of fame candidates?

Can't count exactly, but Frazer beat Nicolino Locche, Canadian champ Al Ford, and two tough customers in Emiliano Villa and Ramiro Bolanos.
Ishimatsu,by record definitely didn't look pretty great, but he beat WBC Lightweight champ Rodolfo Gonzalez, and former WBA and lineal champ Ken Buchanan,he was a longtime contender and tough crafty brawler.
Josue was another longtime contender with SD loss to Cervantes and Tough match with Miguel Velazquez.
Yamabe is a Japanese contender that fought a good match with Alfredo Escalera where he got stopped in a controversial fight.

DeJesus is not a hall of famer. Yes, he beat Duran in his prime at lightweight and that's a great win, but other than that he did not have a HOF career.
