Let's say that DeJesus fought in the 80's, 90's, or today. How would he do without Duran in his way?

In the Eighties he wouldn't have gotten past Pryor. In the Nineties he would have had alot of trouble with Chavez. & now he would have difficulties with Mayweather. You see? There is a "Duran" in every era.

Keep in mind dejesus was a small lightweight.

I got the impression warchild wanted to know more about how he would have performed at lightweight rather than at 140.He didn't have the frame to move up and could more likely have dropped down to 130.

I wouldn't favour too many post-Duran lightweights over him.he could certainly have had a long title run had he been prime sometime other than the Whitaker years.

Why don't we keep Dejesus at 135? That would make the most sense rather than matching him up with Pryor.

At 130 is a different story, DeJesus could have had a long reign as Escalera Did. Not sure if he ever fought Arguello, but I believe he would have matched up well. Simular style to Vilomar Fernandez. Very good defensivly.

I meant a prime 135 lb. DeJesus fighting in a different era.

Some possibilities off the top of my head.
    Dejesus....

    80's

    beats Mancini by decision
    not sure about Arguello....opinions?
    beats Kenty by KO
    beats Paul by KO
    beats Pazienza by decision
    beats Haugen by KO
    beats Rosario by KO
    beats Ramirez by decision
loses to Whitaker by suprisingly close decision
    losses to Chavez by KO
    beats Camacho by decision
    beats Watt by KO
    beats O'Grady by KO
    beats Bramble by decision
    beats Frias by KO

    90's

    loses to Whitaker by decision
    beats Ali by decision
    beats Pendleton by KO
    beats Gonzalez by decision
    not sure about Johnston....opinions?
    beats Randall by KO
    beats Nazarov by KO
    beats Holiday by KO
    not sure about Mosley....opinions?
    beats Spadafora by KO
    loses to Oscar by decision

    2000's

    beats Castillo by KO
    loses to Mayweather by decision
    beats Corrales by KO
    beats Casamayor by decision
    beats Diaz by KO

DeJesus also probably beats most junior lightweights, such as Nelson, Mitchell, Lopez etc...., who move up in weight to fight him.

    Sounds about right to me.

I'd pick him to beat Mosley and Johnston, but not Arguello.

    mayweather would be 50\50.

You'd pick him outright over Mosley? That would be a very interesting fight IMO.

It wouldn't be easy for sure.

Dejesus' smoother technical skills, very good power and mobility give him the edge over Mosley's brute force, speed and combos for me.

Shane does better against someone that would be aggressive or stand in front of him imo.

Not so sure about knocking out a prime Rosario, Or beating a prime Hector Camacho, that would be a tough call. Azumah Nelson would be no cakewalk also.

I wouldn't pick DeJesus outright over Mosley, but Mosley would certainly have to be careful of DeJesus' speed and power. That left hand of DeJesus' almost got him two stoppages over Duran. Those were a couple of hard knockdowns. Duran deserves credit for getting up and not getting stopped. I think that I've only seen DeJesus in the three fights against Duran, but he looked very good for the most part. One thing that could favor Mosley is that DeJesus seemed to fade a bit down the stretch sometimes....no? Has anyone seen other DeJesus fights? How did he look in them?

    Mosley by TKO-11

I don't see DeJesus putting Mosley down or hurting him enough to slow him down - Mosley's naturally bigger and his hands are fast enough that he could do the damage and act on it properly. DeJesus most likely tires down the stretch and Mosely gets him late in round 11.
