I was rooting for Esteban, but it doesn't matter what close rounds i give,it doesn't matter how big is his heart, that final round sealed the fate... Cervantes won this.

However, Esteban made a good effort vs a bigger champ, showing good slick technique despite the huge size differenc, and for a man fighting in his opponent's hometown, this wasn't that much bad of a result,i think he could lose by 1-2 more points, but the right man still won.
    Great fight for both.

The Cervantes fight looked like Monzon against Napoles in terms of size.

In terms of second best performance it probably has to be one of the shuttings out of Lampkin and Ishimatsu, who were both very good fighters and were largely dominated.

I thought Cervantes schooled him, to be honest. I didn’t think it was close at all. The judges didn’t either.

I remember thinking it was a competitive fight early, but Cervantes dominated down the stretch.

That 2nd round, Cervantes slipped. No knockdown and the referee ruled it a slip.

I think that version of Cervantes in 1975 would have given ‘75 Duran a hell of a fight at 140.

I saw it as a down though, Esteban hit him with a left If I remember, and pambele fell,I thought it was a down.

Cervantes just dominated the late rounds to win, early fight up till 10 was pretty competitive though.
