Ok, let's assume that Mayweather-Pacquiao does not get made and PBC ends up fighting Ricky Hatton's brother, Matthew Hatton.

Now, the fight may be able to generate decent pay-per-view sales and gate because of the following factors:

    * It's in Britain, where Mayweather is something of a novelty and the Hattons are beloved (especially if the fight were held in Machester, which I'm assuming it would be)

    * You have the whole "Vitali Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders" angle. That is, one brother trying to avenge the loss of the other brother to a certain fighter

    * Team Mayweather would likely work to stir the nationalistic pride pot. I could see this fight being held on a British holiday, much as the JMM fight was held during Mexican Independence Weekend. Thoughts of Hopkins throwing down the Puerto Rican flag leading up to the Trinidad fight come to mind

    * Ricky Hatton would certainly get involved in the promotion, and stir up angry Brit feelings about his own loss to Mayweather, fueling ticket sales and PPV buys

One thing about Team Mayweather is they have a knack for taking woeful mismatches and pitching them to the public as credible bouts or, at least, interesting entertainment. I think Floyd probably took some notes from his short stint with the WWE on how to sell a match to the PPV crowd and public.

Younger Hatton, certainly, would be almost no threat to Mayweather inside the ring. But that doesn't mean the fight can't be sold to the public, particularly in Britain.

    So, with this in mind,

I think it could end up doing better than some might think.

Probably better than some think, but there's no way it does over 650.

Could well be. I wavered on whether to vote 500-700K or 750K-1MM.

So 1.5 million total? That would be huge.

It would never do a million over here. It's 4am in the morning and it's Matt Hatton, who everybody knows is a joke and hasn't beaten anybody, and is piggy-backing off his brother's marketability. Ricky v Mayweather did 1.3m which is pretty good considering the time and all, but Matt v May wouldn't even do half that.

If Creed-Balboa could do good numbers, why not this?

That fight is worth less than Pavlik vs Espino...at least Pavlik had health issues he was working through...what is Floyd's excuse?

Not in a million years, M. hatton stinks and the uk public knows that. would be lucky to do 300,000.
