Agreed in general, but I don't think in this case those are particularly off-base. I just don't think someone throwing more (and landing slightly more) necessarily means they can't have still clearly lost when distributed over the rounds and scored on a RBR basis...and taking into account the quality of shots and not just quantity.

This kind of attritional brawl doesn't quite push my buttons like it used to.

    Just me? Probably.

Korea and Japan are where you see to see them more often. UK has them for 4 rounders sometimes, Korea and Japan have them title level (Korean cards can be crazy as a result)

He big, too tall, too strong for Findley

I think the corner stopped it in between rounds.

He really wasn't taking that much of a beating but I guess they knew he didn't really stand a chance.

As good as he could, Findley didn't come to win, he shelled up a lot, held a lot and did weak inside work, Slava just hit him with his left jab and right hooks the whole fight, finally he dropped Derrick with a brutal left hook to the body, Findley quit. Slava put in a workmanlike but decent performance.

I thought Kamegai edged the fight 96-94 with his sharper boxing later on proving the difference but nobody can really hate on a draw on this one. So many competitive rounds where you could easily see it swinging one way or the other. Great fight as hoped and I think the current FotY frontrunner.

I went back and checked my final score was 99-91 Kamegai, 98-92 is fine, 97-93 is stretching it, anything else is just wrong.
