Good post. Jones ducked so many top SMWs it is unbelieveable, and went to LHW where he only had Michalczewski to duck
yeah some nice revisionist history here. both would have been obliterated by jones, especially collins. i laugh the most at that one. the guy that lost to reggie johnson and kalambay was going to beat jones at 168. collins was the first to open his mouth after tarver koed jones. he was in the papers saying jones ran from him and he should have been the first to defeat him. effing hilarious!
I had Collins winning the Reggie and Kalambay fights, and they were two of the slickest technicians out there at the time. FWIW.
I wanna see your scorecard for the Kalambay fight. the Reggie fight was extremely close but Kalambay absolutely schooled him.
I see Benn giving a harder time for RJJnr than the other two mentioned with a probable UD win for RJJnr, but Benn was a mare for anyone and could caused alot of problems and as they say anything can happen in a boxing ring. Eubank would be a close second but he lost his killer instinct unfortunately after the Watson fight which was tragic and it would be a late Ko or UD for RJJnr and Collins is a no brainer he would of been schooled.
Jones-Collins should have happened in '96 or 97, and if it couldn't have been made, Jones-Liles definitely should have happened instead. In this regard, Jones is a ****ing disgrace.
liles was with don king. jones wanted no part of that and king wasn't going to let the fight happen unless he could get a piece of jones. here's your jones-liles fight from the olympic box-offs. very close and could have gone either way. i believe liles stopped jones one time in the amateurs. below, larry merchant is saying why jones moved up to 175. collins and liles turned down offers.
