Eubank beats Degale

As per this thread: Eubank Jr has been in wars with journeyman. He can't punch for **** either (I have that on a first hand basis) and a shot Pryce is an okay win but Degale Vs Smith was more impressive.

Will be a fun fight though I'm sure, channel 5 are clearly building to it.

 

I've got high hopes for Eubank on the quiet too. Very promising, although it could all go very wrong for him.

 

Thus proving beyond all doubt that you are a monumental dickhead.

Eubank Jr isn't doing a damn thing with his career. I will send you £30 via Paypal if he beats ONE fighter ranked in the top 15 of two separate major governing bodies at the same time.

He's not getting any bigger or any stronger. I can remember years ago, seeing videos of Chris Eubank Junior, and by the size of him then..? you would of thought he would of turned into a heavyweight fighter.

He's was bigger than me anyway, but i am now bigger than Chris Eubank Junior.

For me he is another classic case of going through puberty early, and maturing fast. Just like Anthony Joshua..? I went to school with many of these type of freaks who just simply mature earlier.

I just don't think he has that strength, i cannot wrong him as a fighter. But for me, he just seems to lack serious bruit strength. James Degale is not on the level of having Carl Froch type strength..? but he can handle himself.

Just like when Denton Vessel fought Ronnie Heffron, as the fight goes on James Degale would just simply be too strong, too physical for Eubank Junior.

If you are strong, you are strong! If you can punch you can punch, that ingrained raw ability will always be evident! Even if you are a young fighter. David Haye could always punch, was fast and athletic.

Chris Eubank Junior, has shown no real elite ability as a puncher. That ability is not suddenly going to appear! He's not suddenly going to become strong like a hulk ether! He's a slick, athletic fighter! those are his raw abilities.

 

Degale beats him after over coming 3/4 interesting first few rounds when they both throw and land a fair bit. That's if they were to fight tomorrow.

Degale doesn't have great power either but Eubank Jr is the king of the pit-a-pat fighters. Degale is stronger, has a good chin, can box and mix it up a bit, and has better power. Can't see any area currently where Eubank beats him other than footwork (maybe) as Degale's is a bit off sometimes.

Agree with the above poster that Eubank Jr is unlikely to develop much more power, and certainly isn't going to be a troublesome puncher a weight up at SMW.

 

Just out of interest, what did you think about that fight, mate? I thought Mayweather looked a lot less impressive and comfortable than the majority of people did. He was winning the fight but I remember thinking that if the bout went into the later rounds, it could have been interesting.

Not an impressive performance from Mayweather, I don't think.

 

The fact is that Eubank Jr has looked good against guys that any decent prospect should good against, wow, he stopped Tadus Jonkus...James Degale here we come

I don't see where people get this idea that Degale is going to suddenly teper off and Eubank is gonna improve massively, DeGale will always be one or two levels above

People talk about about this fight like it's Frampton/Quigg but those guys are on a similar level, Jr has just beaten a shot Bradley Pryce, and that is his best win, that doesn't make him DeGales rival

now don't get me wrong, it's good that Eubank Jr is fighting regularly and coming along nicely, but I think he's gonna go his own seperate path to Degale

 

Eubank Jr is caught between a rock and a hard place. The Middleweight and Super-Middleweight divisions in Britain right now are stacked. If he stays at 160 then he's got no chance in my opinion, not when you've got Murray, Barker, Macklin and Billy-Jo Saunders around.

168 wouldn't be much better. Even when Froch retires you've still got Groves and DeGale who both developed WAY faster than Eubank Jr is doing.

Although his technique looks decent his power isn't up to scratch and neither is balance. He may improve as he develops but even then, what chance will he have of doing anything significant? (e.g. win a title).

 

Barker and Macklin will both be retired by the time he comes to that level I think if he ever gets there anyway. Murray I don't really rate that much to be honest although unquestionably he beats Eubank at this stage. A fight with BJS would be good down the line, I know who my money would be on and it wouldn't be Jr. That could be a big fight in the future though if Eubank Jr can keep racking up journeymen to a 13/14 and 0 record it could happen and be built into a big fight for the British or Euro with the winner moving on to the world level stage.

Could it realistically happen though with one signed to MH and the other FW? Would BJS be allowed to fight on Channel 5?

 

I don't think Eubank is all that right now. I mean, I saw him throwing leaping lead right hands from way out, missing and doing a 180 spin. Not the actions of a controlled, skilled boxer. I think he will improve at a much faster rate that Degale and give him a decent fight in a couple of years. But right now he needs to work on becoming more technically sound and give time for his man strength to develop. Not a huge amount of power there to
