There was a rematch clause and weight might have already been stipulated in it.
Potentially the money was already stipulated too.

I know when AJ had rematch clauses he still got the lions share in the rematch.

If Benn wanted to fight then Eubank either takes it or retires lol

They might as well line up all the Benn relatives they can find and they can pick out a Eubank to try and beat - its getting embarrassing now Nige lad.

As good as the first fight was I've zero interest in this fight. Infact I can't stand the idea of it. It's as pointless as wilder fury 3....

Benn can't beat Eubank, he's too small. He can't keep the bigger man off him because he doesn't punch hard enough. Eubank simply wore him down and used his size. It's just going to be a repeat which doesn't do anything for eithers career.

Eubank I understand he's old and finished so why not make the money but
It's a money grab from benn which is disapointing when he could get back down to his natural weight and have a run at a world title.

    Load of shite this

You’d have to be as thick as pig dung with the money on offer to not take the fight.

He already made enough to never need to work again. Eubank will retire stinking rich but never fulfilled his potential....id rather retire very rich and have had a crack at actually achieving something. I get the first fight, the money, the bragging rights etc. But this is like Joyce walking into zhang 2. It's pointless and whilst probably not career ending it isn't helping his career any. Few quid who cares

    Eubank fights for money only
He made that choice years ago

    So he cares
    Titles mean nothing to him

Benn has been going round like he won for 2 months so imagine if he actually did win. Be getting an open top bus to the supermarket and back.

If Eubank keeps things basic and uses his jab he wins again. Also can’t believe I’m saying Eubank needs to stick to boxing fundamentals after years of that seemingly being his undoing. I guess it shows Benn’s level…

As horrible as this might sound... the money should be number 1 priority for all fighters at all levels. As good as saying you were a champion and have a belt to show... the belt doesn't help pay your mortgage or help feed your family. I mean both kind of come hand in hand for most fighters so if you are winning titles then you should be earning more money but at the same time a higher reward/lower risk fight is what all fighters or at least their management/coaching team would prefer imo and if using their names mean that they can earn obscene money without facing the killers in their divisions then business wise it makes sense!

For their actual boxing careers it does very little though and the real loser could be Benn if he sustains the kind of punishment he did in fight 1 then it could hamper his career moving forward. We all know Chris is at the end so won't have the same impact on him

AS "Mayweather once said I'm a prize fighter, I fight the prize dummy!" or words to that effect.
That's the life Eubank has taken in recent years, slightly surprisingly, but cause if he'd have chosen is moment there was a chance of grabbing a belt.

I'm a bit frustrated they are going at it again: It was a comprehensive win for Eubank, sure Benn can speed his feet up and stop jumping in from a distance - that would help him and Eubank was stunned once or twice so there are hints that with wear and tear and time and age the next weight cut might be one to far for Eubank. I'd be surprised if the board would sanction it..

On the other hand, late on after a hard fight, Benn was almost out of it. It's not an easy night for him either. He could do with picking his career up at 147 and see how it goes. Obviously both looking at ££ signs but they are prize fighters after all

Surely the board would have to step in here and tell Hearn this fight isn't happening if he tries to put Eubank through such dangerous weight restrictions again?

If anyone from the board tries to stop the fight, I think they can expect a personal call from His Excellency.
