Nothing really. It’s just I remember there was was almost a sense ‘how dare he?’ When Collins beat Chris the first time by a lot of people in the UK. I had seen Collins before this lose (one very controversial) decisions to two fighters for legit world titles, while Nigel and Chris went the safer route.
And while I thought it was even money going into their fight, it didn’t surprise at all when Steve won.

I don't care where any boxer comes from, I like a fighter based on if I like there style not there nationality.

I'm not even a fan of Eubank. I just thought it was an interesting point, that no one talks about the 2nd knockdown, which ultimately would of made a difference in scoring.

But honestly I could careless who won, because I wasn't a fan of either fighter, i preferred Watson and Benn.

I don't know if your comment was directed at me, but I thought I'd just clarify anyway.

Eubank said he didn`t want to fight Jones.

"why would I want to fight a guy like Roy Jones in his prime?"

Between them all they had the nation gripped!!

Every few weeks it was a Eubank night in as he was fighting!!

    Like you say great times...

He was, but such a shame Herol Graham was kept out of the mix and deservedly needs a mention in that era...

Not until it was his last fight.

Otherwise why would he, it made no sense?

Herol Graham was world #1 contender before Chris Eubank ever laced a glove.

    True story.

Herol wasted his career hanging around forever. Eubank was a ‘go-getter’.

As a British fan I loved Eubank. He was so fun and entertaining, with his egotistical, posh type personality and his exciting knockout power. He is one of my all time favs for sure.

Eubank should have won. But if he had, there’d no doubt have been a rematch.

Two huge names in a close fight decided by a point.

The rematch would have been even more interesting.

Could they have had a trilogy?

Would Benn have fought Collins had Collins lost twice to Eubank?

    All interesting things to ponder.

Either way, I don’t think that Eubank would have fought Benn and Roy afterwards.

He was never the same after the Watson tragedy.

The win over Rochigianni in Germany was good though.

That was the plan. More money v Benn. Then nothing to lose v Jones.

Eubank would’ve smelled money in a Collins rematch in Ireland again, though Collins wasn’t a big name yet outside Ireland.

Benn would’ve just stayed retired after Malinga. Maybe a comeback around 1998 under Jimmy Tibbs, unsuccessful.

But then what if Eubank simply decided to step in and stop Collins in the 10th when he was there for the taking, in that first fight. Collins would’ve retired then

Benn should have gotten the decision in the rematch, forcing a trilogy. But I think even though everyone knew Benn had won, including Eubank, I don’t think there was a huge call in 1995 for one. Although there could have been had Benn not lost to Malinga.

I still don’t think a fight between Roy and Eubank would ever have happened.
