1:55 there's a bit of power which sets up the first KD. 2:50 is the stoppage.

2:15 is the knockdown. Replay at 2:45

Stoppage at 3:00. Bit early but he had taken some hard shots in the round.

Watch the whole thing. KO at 4:20. Replay at 5:25.

Nothing too special here, just Calzaghe beating up some nasty fat guy.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVfBtGVGAHE[/ame]

Softens the big guy up with bodyshots for 3 rounds, then puts him away due to exhaustion in the 4th. Not a 1-punch KO, but a systematic and quick destruction of a bigger man.

3rd part of a good fight for the British championship. The end starts at 7:00 and the stoppage comes at about 8:00.

Gay little fight. Guy kept ducking low and taking punches on the back of the head as a result, causing him to stagger about and the ref stopped it.

Boring stoppage at the end, but in the first round Calzaghe puts him down twice.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhybgFZ6GPE[/ame]

Beating begins at 7:30, stoppage at 8:30. Hurt him with body punches.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC2us3PNmvM[/ame]

4:30. Hook to the liver and 2 hooks to the head. The body shot seems to be the one that kept him down for the ten-count.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL0uqguzMKs[/ame]

Drops him with an uppercut and then finishes him on the ropes.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tahH7GuBADo[/ame]

Puts him down at 3:00. Finishes him in the next round.

0:40 and 1:45 are two clean knockdowns. The stoppage follows the second one.

Damn near kills him at 8:30.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USJ5Yyx8O1k[/ame]

    2:05 and 2:25 are clean one-punch knockdowns.

    Awesome.

So, in conclusion: Calzaghe wasn't what you'd call a 'power-puncher', but he did have very good power, especially early on in his career. His speed, conditioning, and skills just made his power look bad. But he really did have it all.

To be fair Cobbler Eubank is known for often coming out with some downright bizarre statements. He once claimed Dean Francis was the most talented man he had ever fought or sparred - you know very well that he is often prone to making fanciful claims.

The fact of the matter remains that he never really stopped anybody with a proven top-notch beard. His much vaunted power, which I do feel gets a little talked up now that he's retired, wasn't really evident when he reached world level (and don't use the Veit stoppages as evidence to the contrary).

That's true that he never really stopped a guy who was known as a rock. But it's well known that Calzaghe had major hand issues dating back to the Reid fight. You can actually see his style changing as he moves on in his career. A combination of better opposition and hand injuries is what did it, not a lack of power. I'm not saying he was Mike Tyson, but the man did not punch soft when he was trying to hurt you...

Well that's the problem. His hands problems seemed to worsen just as he reched world level, so we'll never really know how hard he hit. It's all speculation either way.
