Toney was better fighting off the front foot - Eubank never looked very convincing coming forward.

Toney-R.Johnson was a razor-thin fight - Toney barely escaped with the decision.

That's not a good fight to illustrate wide UD decision win for Toney.

I think if Toney constantly came forward though, he couldn't have beat Eubank.

I guess you haven't seen the Watson fight. But then again, look what happened after Watson hurt Eubank...I saw that live on tv and still remember it.

Tough one this, but I would have to go with Eubank.. really a pick'em fight.

I agree, but Toney at smw preferred to play the role of the counterpuncher.
He had a better balance between offense and defense at mw.
R.Johnson used lateral movement and he was a counterpuncher, like Eubank.

If he can hold his own against a guy like Johnson then he can more than handle a fighter like Eubank, who was a couple of steps below R.Johnson.

General Zod keep this thread going excellent thread brotha :good

The more I watch stuff on Eubank the more I grow to appreciate him ..Though a figt with Toney would have been diificult for Chris I have no doubt in my mind he would have fought his ass off in there against him ..

    Nice one.
He slipped a couple of steps after Watson II. He was never the same fighter after that.

He got the job done when it mattered against Littles though.

Johnson was a very good fighter - not the most exciting but quite underrated these days.
